So guys like Darren Sproles, Wes Welker, DeSean Jackson, etc wouldn't be on your draft board? How about Anquan Boldin or Jerry Rice?

I don't really understand your rationale. On the one hand you say you need measureables to be on your board, but then you say you don't want project players. Well, there is a high percentage of height/weight/speed guys who ARE project players because they succeed in college by being much better athletes and what happens when they get to the pros? So if Leonard Williams runs a 5.2 40 he's not on your board?

Also, you can absolutely see a players instincts and determination and scouts who follow them closely for a few years do see what they are made of as they watch them practice, train, and interview teammates, friends and coaches and opposing players.

One coach was asked would he rather have an athletic speedy 4.3 LB or a 4.7 LB with instincts and reading ability. He said 4.3 speed doesn't help you if you're running in the wrong direction!

Take a look at Kendricks - LB on UCLA. Might have the best instincts of any LB in the draft but probably not much of a speed demon. He's not even on your board? Similarly, are you telling be great size/speed/weight guys with little production and little technique or instincts...are they off your draft board as well because they are project players or do they make the list because they have 'measureables?'

I dont rank all 1000 prospects, so certain guys I overlook. Thats the reality of every scout, a lot of people missed on Brady and Marc Bulger. I try to do all my homework on the ones I like, but again sometimes you miss one. You cant have it all, but I try finding the guys with as much of "it" as I can find.

Obviously Id have Boldin and Rice on my board, their talents show up on film.

Anyone else think Leonard Williams may be a little less valuable to us considering we're a 3-4 team? Had this discussion with someone irl the other day and made some valid points. I feel like finding a better NT and a solid DE is just as good as drafting Williams at #2.

He would be a great 34 end

Not saying he wouldn't be but like value wise maybe go somewhere else on defense that's more of a need. Like let's say we sign Dan Williams, who is a realistic target at NT. Would we still go Leonard Williams?

I really just hope we trade back. I have a feeling we're going to spend a lot of cash this off season.

A front 3 of Leonard - Williams - Casey would be really solid. Would still need two OLB with Brown, Woodyard, and Williamson in the middle. If we pick up a Orakpo, Worilds, etc, I would not be opposed to this while adding a second olb in the second round. Of course we would need to add a S and probably a CB in free agency as well.

Also, cant see us trading back and still getting him. A lot changes between now and the draft, but as of now, it looks tough for Leonard to drop past the Jags and Cooper past the Raiders.

That would make for an exceptional front 3 for our 3-4. We have to acquire some decent OLBs though. Wimbley will be cut and Morgan is a FA, which means we have zero OLBs on our roster. I think we resign Morgan if the price is right, as well as pick up a top name in FA. Even if we do both of those I still think we take another OLB in the first 3 rounds.

If we truly are all in with mett like some believe then going heavy defense and a OT are the obvious needs.

Turning around the front seven can impact our game play by a lot. We win the steelers game. Metts not always playing catch up. The defense doesn't cost is games. Offense can be more balanced.

When you have the opportunity to take (potentially) the highest rated prospect coming out at #2 then you take him. He holds his ground against double teams, is an excellent defender against the run, plays hurt, is a mismatch when singled up (which he rarely is), can shed blocks and has a motor. Great players make good players better.

I honestly feel that the front office will screw up by trying to trade back. We are picking second in this years draft for a reason, we need quality more than quantity (I am still upset that we gave up a third to acquire Justin Hunter).

The only logical move would be with Cleveland (since they have two first rounders) but only if they include Josh Gordon and their second and a third or fourth round pick.

So hope both quarterbacks come out and they tear it up at the combine, otherwise:
"With the number 2 pick in the 2015 NFL draft the Tennessee Titans select Leonard Williams defensive tackle out of USC."
