Yeah I know we can afford him. Don't get me wrong. I would love to have him. Not for a #2 pick though. Maybe our 3rd rd pick. If he was already signed and under contract where we know what figures we are looking at, but having to resign him not knowing the asking price I just don't like. Also as the cap goes up so does every other player asking salary. Like I said maybe if we had TB offensive pieces this would be an interesting trade putting us over the hump and making us actual contenders. Actually Rivers could force the issue as he has the leverage. He could tell them he is not resigning with them and to trade him to TN. Otherwise we wait another year and build the roster and add him the following season with everything in place to make a run.

I don't care that McNair cheated on his wife. That's none of my business. I'm just talking about the way Rivers acts. He seems like a cry baby/douchebag. Yes, he's a good QB... But I prefer to cheer for players that don't seem like a douche. Not that I know them personally or anything. I feel the same about Aaron Rodgers. Damn good QB, but just seems like a *****, so its hard for me to want him to win.

If this really happened, I'd be happy when things went well.. But is also be down on him every time he sucked or acted like a douche. Lol

Rivers is just such a crybaby. The way he permanently gets in Officials faces and never draws a flag is a joke.

He's better than anything we've had recently , better than anything on the roster and better in short-mid range than anything in the draft.

However , put him behind the non-existant O-Line that we have at the moment and he stands far less of a chance to do anything.

If I had to do a deal I would do it with a third but I'd prefer to use the money elsewhere , keep the picks and use Mett with a FA like McCown for a year while we rework the O-line.

If you were SD would you give up your starting QB for a 3rd and Justin Hunter? Their TE is on the verge of retirement. I could see them going one more year and then franchising him while they either work a long term deal (for him to play there a few more years) or a trade when they tear it down.

Of course, IF I was SD I'd be willing to trade Rivers for even swapping 1st rndrs with the Titans. Doubt Rivers would like that and be willing to sign an more cap friendly extension but that's about the only way SD would be interested because they'd need a QB in return or in the draft.

They could also draft a QB like Hundley as the heir apparent to take over for Rivers in a year or two.

All QB's are cry babies. Tom Brady whos arguably the best QB this century is the biggest cry baby there ever was. Its just a trait they all share. Something about being very particular helps make QB's QB's.

Yes, let's trade the 2nd overall for a guy who will probably retire by the time all the holes in the team and front office are fixed.

Just my opinion but I don't think it would be a good move at all. Yes he's a big upgrade but at his age that price is too much. How many teams have won the SB with another team's QB? Several have come close... but most don't even sniff it.

Draft Williams, keep building up the trenches and fix the backend of the defense. Wins will start to increase

The Titans have got to keep fanning all the rumor mill flames about teams willing to trade to get Mariotta.

Do I think Whiz would love to reunite with Rivers? Without a doubt and this is why the rumors will live on until draft day.

So we have bolts, Eagles, Rams, Browns, and Jets who all might be interested in #2 pick

I have to admit that although I hate rivers attitude. I would be happy on draft day if we got Rivers for the 2nd pick and then drafted a WR with the bolts 1st pick and a RT with our 2nd rnd pick.
