It did peak my interest in the story about Kelly trading for Mariota that Kelly recently gained a lot of power in Philly. It has to make you wonder. Kelly could be thinking that Mariota is the perfect QB to run his offense and make a run at a SB....... He may be right. With all the talent on that team, a QB that runs that quick offense perfectly would be very hard to stop.

These are just the first 3 I found. There are several out there. Didn't pay much attention to these. Search Kelly trades for Mariota in Yahoo (Or your preferred Search Engine) and you will get 100's of results. Some are guesses some are things that have been heard. You never know what is true until the day.

If we could just get the picks you listed and Foles it is worth it in my book. I don't think Foles will be the savior of this team, but he would be very stiff competition for Mett. The picks would go a long way for addressing the massive holes we have on our roster.

All that said I still don't think it would happen. The reason being the biggest issue...... The Bucs would have to pass on Mariota & I don't see that happening. If Kelly really wants him he would most likely try to trade with the Bucs, which would net a fortune in trade.

It is a great thought & would certainly be a nice feather in the hat of Webster if he could pull off the trade worth taking. However, Webster has not given me any reason to think he can pull off any kind of worth while trade.

Webster always seems to be on the losing end of any trade he makes.

I doubt he wants to trade up that far and give up a mortgage.

    Raiders for Williams
    KC for cooper
    Seems more logical

Anything is possible. Do not want Nick Foles though in a deal. He has not proven all that much and next season is his last under contract so he is basically a 1 year rental. May have a decent season and then we sign him to a pretty big contract and he turns out to be just like Kevin Kolb. Trade chart value it looks almost impossible but things can happen.
Trade #2 (Mariota) to Philly for:
    2015 1st and 2nd
    2016 1st
    2017 2nd
    2018 1st and 2nd
    2020 1st and 2nd
    OLB Connor Barwin
    WR Jordan Matthews

You may think this is a lot to give up but it really isn't that much considering how far we are dropping and how high they are moving up, especially for a QB. Washington gave up 3 1st to move up 4 spots. Most of the top prospects are gone by pick 20 but this trade does give TN picks to work with in the future along with an OLB that can rush the passer and a promising WR. This won't matter too much if we were to get the FA I would like because the lower tier picks don't count as much towards the cap.

Chip Kelly does the deal because he
a.) gets his franchise QB and if Mariota turns out to be Aaron Rodgers in that offense and gets them close to the superbowl then the trade is worth it. I am sure most people would give that up for Aaron Rodgers on their team since it is just a pick or two a draft and
b.) by the time 2020 comes around Mariota will be due for an extension and not having those 2 picks that year frees up cap space to resign him and
c.) if Mariota doesn't work out for them and/or Kelly leaves or is fired in the next 3-4 years he does not have to worry about not having those 2 picks in 2020 and could care less.

That is one reason for spacing the picks across multiple years. The value of them goes down by a round per year so a 2016 1st equals a 2015 second and a 2017 first equals a 2015 third and so forth on down. Philly is not handicapped from top prospects and TN gets plenty of extra drafts over the years to continually replenish or trade for future picks or higher picks in the draft.

Has Winston even declared he is coming out? Last I saw,he said he was focused on playing baseball next year and his dad said he was staying in school for 2 more years.

Either way, if the Titans draft him, I give up on this team. I don't want another headcase QB!

Hopefully someone wants one of the top 2 QBs and are willing to give up a decent haul. It doesnt have to be an RG3 type deal, but if the FO can pull in some more picks for this year, that would be awesome.

Philly won't give up enough for Mariota, nor will the Bucs be willing to drop that far.
