your statements make me think you really dont follow the draft closely. Good franchises use top picks on o line, d line. They find players hidden in the draft, bring them in and develops them. No good franchise drafts a immature trouble maker to change their team and is actually successful doing it. No one.
take a look at the last few drafts of green bay, Pittsburgh, new England, Seattle, Denver, Baltimore, Dallas....they all.did the exact opposite of what you are saying.

If you were a fan of the Titans when Pacman was here, then you remember how he acted on the field and in the locker room. He was a distraction. Other players as much as said that he was a cancer.

I also remember a lot of stupid chit he pulled on the field with personal fouls because he couldn't control himself.

And, once he got suspended, it totally impacted his play "on-the-field" because he wasn't on it to play. And this was when teams paid their first-round player major money which had a direct impact on what they can do in free agency, etc.

Look, I agree passing on Moss was bad. But that doesn't mean you ignore idiots who have a track record of being such with something as important as the second pick of the NFL Draft.

There are so, so many examples of franchises being submarined by wasting draft picks on bad character guys. Hell, there are several in just the past few years in only the Titans organization. Have we already forgotten Pacman, Britt and Vince?

    Come on, people...

I can read just fine. I have a hard time figuring out what your saying. You criticize people who dont want jw and think that trying to hit the jackpot with a boom or bust player, labeling it the same old chit, yet that is exactly the same old chit the titans have done the past decade. And for the record its the same old chit ever other failing franchise has been doing the past decade as well. It does not work, yet fans continually advocate for it.
the only way jw has a chance at success in the NFL, it to go to a strong winning franchise with a stable coaching staff where he rides the pine three or four years behind a franchise QB until he matures and learns to lead a team. Keep him out of the spotlight as much as possible. He may still screw that up, but its his best shot at success.

Im not criticizing anyone, I just don't agree. The thing that separates the way the top franchises and the bottom franchises is the should be obvious. They have the luxury of taking the bpa in almost every round. When you have giant holes in the qb, oline or dline you must address those issues first. Qb being the most important and the lines are equally important.

Jw is a risky player but has huge potential. Locker and vy are and weren't anywhere near the wb he is. They were stupid picks. I respect your opinion, just don't agree.

I would love to able to trade back to the 5th pick or so and still be able to take him. Just don't see it being possible.

He wasn't doing "puff puff pass."

He was doing the sign for "keep it 3hunna" something him and a lot of the FSU players have been doing since last season.

gotcha, but your telling me that vy wasn't every bit as good in college as jw?
the difference is by didn't have nearly as many off the field issues.

This is a sentiment that a lot of people seem to agree with so I'm going to show the top 12 passers of 2014 and their overall draft placement.

Drew Brees 32 (overall) won supper bowl
    Roethlisberger 11 won supper bowl
    Luck 1
P Manning 1 won super bowl
    Ryan 3
E Manning 1 won super bowl
    Rodgers 24 won super bowl
    Rivers 4
    Stafford 1
    Brady 199 won super bowl
    Tanneyhill 8
    Flacco 18 won super bowl

Certainly a high pick can be a bust, and sometimes you can find a Brady, but to me it seems like the higher you draft a guy the better your chances are at getting a playoff caliber QB.

When you need a QB and are in the right spot to pick a high rated prospect, you almost have to make that pick. And the only way I wouldn't is if another team wants to trade up and give us a boatload of picks. We're not trading that pick for Rivers or New England"s back-up QB, either.

thanks for the research, I'm sure you noticed that only 2 of the top picks have super bowl beside there name. You also left off Russell Wilson super bowl winner, and Tony Romo - playoff caliber UFFA. There are far more bust at QB high picks than successful ones. Notably Rodgers, Brees, Brady and I think Rothkesburger and Maybe even Flacci were not forced to start right away, but given time to develop.
