Can u post a link. I've been looking for old recruiting class rankings and haven't been able to find exactly what I was looking for.

    Rivals.com

Scout.com also provides rankings for years going back to 2001.

There is a small disparity between the 2 services for example Florida state has the 2nd best recruiting class so far this year according to rivals but are ranked 5th at scout.com. Espn also ranks high school recruits but rivals is the best.

This is a pretty dumb comment to make on two levels. First off, I don't think anyone (in this thread at least) has laid everything at Sims' feet. However, in a game where Bama loses by a TD, a pick six and an INT thrown pretty much in the red zone certainly played a major factor. And Sims was off all night, he under threw a couple of balls and just struggled with his reads. Don't get me wrong, as a person Blake Sims has been my favorite QB in a long time. But he is the poster child of inconsistency. Yes, he put up good stats, but he would also occasionally have terrible patches in there.

Second, while Bama did score 35 points, 14 of those came from turnovers in plus territory. At the end of the day we were terrible on third down and with keeping drives alive.

I agree with you on the defense however. Why 3rd-and-long is the best position to be in against Alabama I will never know. I'd almost say they should specifically hire a 3rd-and-long defensive assistant coach or something. It's ridiculous.

How many Super Bowls has Urban been to? How many NFC Championship games? Harbaugh took a 6-10 49ers squad to 13-3 and was a couple of botched punt catches away from taking them to a Super Bowl.

Yeah, Urban did well with Florida, one of the most successful programs in the country. Harbaugh did pretty well at Stanford, a school where folks go to get an education (not party and play sports like, say, Florida). I certainly wouldn't say Harbaugh has been in the same position to be successful at the college level as Meyer has.

Really lame argument when we are talking college football.

    2 completely different animals.

Nick Saban couldn't cut it in the NFL but I won't disagree that he is the best college football coach. So because Harbaugh had some success in the nfl he is now the best in college?

Get outta here with that weak ****.

    No you mental midget.

I'm saying that Jim Harbaugh is obviously not a scrub since he has been successful at the highest level of the sport and that exclusively looking at his college resume' is goofy since he wasn't exactly at a football powerhouse program. And even then, he did fine at Stanford, it's not like he was terrible. If he was he wouldn't have gotten an NFL job.

And you don't think his success in the pros is going to boost recruitment at Michigan? Please.

I never said his NFL resume' will make him a college football zen master, but to call the man a scrub is beyond stupid.

I would have to disagree on this one. I think Urban Meyer is the best coach in college football. Had he stayed at Florida he would have topped the number Saban won I think. His bowl record is much better as well. He beat a team of 4 -5 star recruits with a 3rd string QB.
I also think there is a good argument that David Cutcliff is the best coach in college football. Although he will never with the national championship, what he has done at Duke is astonishing. Given the level of talent they have compared to bigger school, he does a great job.
I have alot of respect for what coach Saban has accomplished, but to me I view him as the best recruiter and not the best coach.

Harbaugh is a scrub due to the point he went to that school and is now coaching that school. Harbaugh will never have success at that school. You want to know why? Because they have to play Ohio State every year.

As for recruiting... In the last 4 years Rivals had Michigan ranked in the top 30 the last 4 years. In those 4 years the highest they ranked was 5th and 7th. They have been getting recruits already.

Even at 30 they had better classes than TCU, Kansas St ect that are all better than Michigan.

Anyway the point being, Michigan is a suck ass school with a suck ass coach and some ***** ass fans.

Urban's been successful at more than just Florida. Urban also did well with Utah, going 22-2 including an undefeated season.

He was also successful at Bowling Green, going 8-3 his first year as head coach. The year before Urb took over, they were 2-9 and had been below .500 the past 6 years.

141-26 record as a college coach. At this point, I'd take Urban as a head coach over anyone... that includes Saban and especially Harbaugh.

I admire your love for Tennessee, maybe in 25-50 years he could become the best coach in all of football.

Maybe I will win the lottery.

    No one knows.
