With 10+ teams NEEDING a QB and less than 5 available...one or more of those teams will want Winston. He will be the ONLY way they can fill that need and they will convince themselves that with the much lower rookie salary cap, if he busts, it's no big deal. But then they will remember his upside...heisman, national championship...winner!

I live in NY and most over here WANT Winston but think they have no shot to get him. Howver, with Casserly and Ron Wolfe being added as consultants, it'll be harder to pull the wool over their eyes though Im not sure if they are only consultants for finding the Jets a new GM and HC...perhaps not how to rebuild their roster and get a new starting QB.

There will be trade partners for sure. And not just one!!! And consider there will be some people who will want to move up for Leonard Williams and some might move up for Cooper!

All the NY media basically is saying if they can't get Winston, they want Cooper.

I don't think they are that fast (combine will tell us) but he and Strong could be bigtime. I'll be curious to see how big he is as well...if he's in the 205-210 range or more like 220 or so.

Looking at it from your point of viw, you are absolutely right. Hope our GM is smart enough to play it that way. I KNOW there will be trade offers as I said, but it is scary that Webster will be doing the deal. I hope we make a trade because I believe it is our best option for a quick turn around. There is a lot of talent in the draft as always, but this year doesn't seem like a good year to be picking #2. A trade down gets us more picks, and most likely a player more equal to the actual value of the pick we make IMO.

    As always great post.
