Have you looked into the case at all? Her story keeps changing, that is a huge red flag in court. The fact that he hasn't been charged, but has been to trial makes it hard for someone who calls him a rapist to make a valid statement. Most of the other off the field issues (which I think are no big deal) are much better cases for why you or anyone else doesn't like the guy.

A QB showing a lot of immaturity publicly is distressing considering he is a golden boy coming off the heisman and a national championship last year. You think it's no big deal and it's certainly possible it means nothing long term. But when drafting people...especially QB's who is your on field leader and the face of a franchise - maturity is a major issue. Look at Manziel who was immature, small, and short but all that was ignored because he was a winner. Now you can see his first season was lost in part because he wasn't ready for a traditional offense and part because his immaturity affects his preparation and that affects on field performance. So the Browns now have a vet LB calling him and Gilbert out publicly! That doesn't happen unless you have a major problem. Heap on top of that that the Browns suspended Gordon from his 6th game because they don't want him and want something back in a trade (he will now be a RFA instead of a FA). Maturity issues have a large affect on players and teams...especially at QB.

VY's real demise was that after his 'winner' facade was broken down, his immaturity affected his preparation, his on field play, and ultimately the entire team. I don't see immaturity at the QB position as minor...especially for Winston.

We will 'suck' if we go defense? Why? Really our best best is to trade down...especially if we can get the kind of haul the Rams did AND get at least 2 major impact players in FA. If the Titans stay status quo...don't trade out and just pickup middle of the road free agents, we will have a hard time improving much whether you take Winston, Mariota or Leonard Williams. I believe we have at least a middle of the pack roster with a few giant holes that can be addressed but Whiz has taken this roster and gotten a 2-14 record with it. If we want to be more than a basement dweller, we need big changes.

Last point, a lot of people think despite his issues, Winston will be the first QB taken simply because he plays in more of a pro system whereas Mariota will need time to learn a conventional offense. So with the Bucs picking first, they may take Winston and make this a moot point.

I'm curious to see what the Bucs do. Everyone says they will take Mariota but the reality is Lovie Smith isn't that much different than Wiz and everyone is saying we pass on him for that reason.

Would probably boost interest in the franchise, like if a big time UT player was drafted by the Titans. I think it would be an easier sell to take Jameis in the state he went to school in compared to somewhere else where more people think less favorable of him.

I wonder if it would benefit us more if they don't go QB and trade back? As far as the trade market for the 2nd pick goes.

Lewan is partying hard while on probation and being substance abuse tested?

    What are these stories?

If Winston is innocent because he wasn't charged, why do you act like Lewan's alleged threat is a fact when he was never charged either. You can't have it both ways.

But for you and a lot of others, the inconsistency is why you have some people believe one thing and others believe something else. Charged, not charged, convicted or not...none of us know what really happened. We can only make judgements based on the 'evidence' which in itself is mirky.

What I meant by we will suck if we go d, was if we take a d player at #2. Just imo winston eould instantly boost our team like no one else in this draft.

I agree with our team being as talentless as we are we could really benefit from trading back, if we get a rg3 type trade and I would be very happy with that happening. But if we stay at 2 qb is the only option we have, imo.

For Winston, his ceiling = Ben Roethlisberger, his floor = Josh Freeman.

For Mariota, his ceiling = Alex Smith, his floor = Alex Smith.
