Show me Cutler's top 5 season? Show me a year he was a top 3 QB? Cutler has been a tease his whole career and never got to elite status. Rivers was elite before and is again...big difference. Meanwhile, Cutler has gotten worse with more talent and good coaching than you'd know what to do with. Why would you want him here? He's never been that good and never developed past his nice start in Denver.

The fact that he's been benched, his OC threw him under the bus to the media and has a prohibitive guaranteed contract means NO to Cutler!!!

I and everyone in the NFL would disagree with you. If Andrew Luck was in this draft we would take him no matter how many holes are there. Sure, you could have a season or 2 of struggle while you cut the fat off the roster and used high draft picks and free agency to build around him, but you'd have a Super Star QB playing like one by year 3 at the latest.

Rebuild our team with Mett at QB and maybe he's good enough and maybe he's not. If we rebuild well but don't have the QB, we will look like the Texans but still searching for a QB. Which path would you rather take, a guaranteed playoff team that will only get better or a 50/50 team that may or may not be stuck at 8-8 til you find a QB?

Of course, the problem is Andrew Luck is not in this draft. So I am also of taking option 2...trade down for a truckload of draftpicks to rebuild the roster and hope Mett is good enough. He certainly has the arm talent.

I mentioned this in another thread. My idea was that the Bears would trade us Cutler and their 2nd rnd pick and we would swap 1st rnders with them. This would allow the Bears to draft a franchise QB and get out of Cutlers deal. We would then still have a top 10 pick and 2 high picks in the 2nd rnd plus have Cutler and Mettenberger to battle it out for our starting QB spot.

The real question is how much of a cap hit are you willing to take for an extra draft pick? Is taking on 18mil worth a 1st rnder???2nd rnder???

I read Adam schefter saying in order to balance out the contract Chicago could do something like trade cutler and a third for a 6th...

Now that would be freaking amaazing

Cutler is not worth ANY draft pick that we would have to send to the Bears and if they got the deal you suggest, we would be the laughing stock of the league as you can get Cutler for FREE once they cut him! And really, we don't want him anyway.

If they offered me a 2nd round pick to TAKE him off their hands, I'd do that, say thank you, and cut Cutler a minute later. I can deal with losing $15.5mil in cap space for one season in exchange for a top 10 pick in rnd 2!

ZERO chance the Bears will give up and 2nd or 1st pick to dump Cutler....they'd STILL need to get a QB.

No way would I GIVE the Bears ANYTHING!!!

Actually, I'd offer the Bears this deal...we take Cutler and his prohibitive offer off your hands and we give you our 1st pick in the draft (you can get the great Mariota or the Winner - Winston). You give us your 1st (2015), 2nd (2015), 3rd (2015), 4th (2015), 1st (2016), 2nd (2016), 1st (2017), 2nd (2017). Say thank you and hang up the phone. Then call Cutler's agent to notify him he was a Titan for 22 seconds and he is being cut. have a good day. We'll have a great draft...for the next 3 years!!!

I think a 3rd is a breaeven point for anyone considering trading for him as a 3rd rnd pick ios pretty good. And yet, you are still giving a 6th and giving up $15.5mil of your cap space next year?

Personally, I'd try to negotiate the BIG deal where we drop down to 10 (their pick), take Cutler off their hands and get a boatload of picks in 2015 ( there first 4 picks in the draft), and top picks(at least 1st and 2nd) in 2016 and 2017.

I don't think Webster has the moxy to make a deal for Cutler and a 3rd for our 6th and simply cut Cutler right then. This is the kind of move the yankess make in baseball where in essence, they get players in exchange for CASH!!! This would be aquiring a 3rd rnd pick for cash and a 6th (and for that 6th I'd make Chicago eat $5.5mil).

Guys if it goes down I might be done. I can't keep putting time and money into this if they pull bull**** like this. I'll find a new hobby. Football in Tennessee sucks anyway.

I hope all the "I'm done if they get cutler" guys stay done once he leads us to playoffs!

I mean seriously things could be much worse...like drafting Winston or mariota

I might be getting into hockey, curling, golf, they have professional lacrosse? more baseball, NASCAR if we end up with Cutler and Mettenberger as our QBs next year.
