One of the more odd offseason moves we made last year was dropping Ryan Fitzpatrick and bringing in Charlie Whitehurst. I think at the time, most of us didn't like the move because we didn’t know much about Whitehurst, except that he had very limited playing time in the places he’s played and was a backup in SD when Whisenhunt was OC.

So the question is; now that we’ve had almost a full season of having Whitehurst on the team, did we make the right move? Do you wish we still had Fitzpatrick as our backup or are you happy with CBJ?

Seems Whitehurst can take it from the 30 to the 30 with no problem, but he can't put it in the endzone for some reason. Missed an easy TD to a wide open Delanie yesterday. He manages a conservative game and was on for most of the game yesterday when Whiz called his number, which he should have called more yesterday.

Fitzy is inconsistent, but he can finish drives and score. He definitely has more firepower than Charlie, but he turns the ball over alot.

As a back-up I prefer Fitzy, but that doesnt say much

That pass was intended for Durham, actually... not sure if it had a chance or not though.

I think I prefer Whitehurst though... he's not a turnover machine. This year's Whitehurst would've probably been good enough to put us at 13-3 in 2008 as well as KFC... CBJ makes some really good looking throws that Locker could never make.

He's a game manager, which is useless to this team since we're going to give up way too many points every game.

All that is asked of most back ups is to manage the game and not turn the ball over

He's a really good backup. Unfortunatly, we have 2 of those on the roster at the moment.

    He's referring to Mett

I don't understand CBJ...when he's called off the bench he goes out and plays like a HOFer for a drive and then....just... dunno.

Was just thinking watching the game last night that he would have been great in that kfc 2008 offense.

    Honestly?

With Whitehurst, we probably win 2-3 more of those close games last season when Fitzpatrick went into "**** it, chuck it, FOOTBALL" mode.
