Agreed that you shouldn't drink and drive and need to be more responsible, but it's buls**** for people here to say they have never done it before at one point or another. Nobody here goes to a happy hour, game or parties? Yeah right.....full of ****. Yes, it is wrong to drink and drive as we just saw what happened to Bironas.

You need to have a limit and be responsible.

Blaine seems like a good guy who probably had one too many.....he is no Kerry Collins.

You take it like you normally would, if youre wasted youre best chance at getting away with a DUI is probably relying on muscle memory, just let your house come to you. But dont actually wait at a red light like its really finding you down the street.

I do not drink indulge in any other intoxicant then drive. I did it when I was a kid - and I was very lucky not to have hurt someone. Putting others in harms way because you want to to a party or happy hour is not acceptable.

The USA has two problems in regards to this theory:

    1. It's a capitalist society. We are taught to sell, sell, sell, and to Hell with the consequences. No, people shouldn't be drinking 6 beers per day, or cokes.. but there is an opportunity for profit, so that will almost always be encouraged.

    2. We're too spread out for a real public transportation system. London is a huge metropolis, with everything packed together. Americans want their space. Makes it impossible to have any kind of efficient public transit system, unless millions of tax dollars are wasted, travelling to rural areas. The entirety of England is just a little bigger than the state of Indiana.

So: we're back to the point that people should have self control, but don't. Regardless of advertising, Alcohol has been a part of almost every culture for thousands of years. It doesn't become a huge issue until people start wielding 4000 lb death machines, drunk.. like in the last 100 years.

I'm more on the side of personal accountability. Not a fan of blaming "the man" for when people decide to intoxicate themselves and put others in harm's way. Especially when there are such repercussions for getting caught. In the past, cops turned a blind eye, now they're hawkeye out there, looking for drunk drivers.

There is no reasonable scenario where it would be necessary for someone to drive drunk. With cell phones, natural stupidity, and drunkenness behind the wheel, it's a miracle that most of us are still alive, here.
