Cool under pressure on the field, which he has been doing since he was a kid, probably comes much more naturally than giving a speech under bright lights on national television.

And hell, compared to McNair and vy, he's a freaking toast master.

Just curious what those on here think. Say Oregon gets down and has to make make a comeback. Mariota has an INT or fumble (or two) trying to press and make it happen, and they lose the game. Will you guys still be on board based on his whole season's work or does he need to light it up in the playoff for you to still be on board?

Just wondering. I'd personally still be ok with it. He hasn't had a bad game all season really. One not so stellar game won't scare me away.

    Eh

Some people have trouble speaking in front of groups. I think you are over analyzing.

I do agree with this statement.

This fact seems lost on many here.

If the Titans are #1 they have to take the highest rated QB on their board.

Mariota or not, draft a QB.

I agree, we gotta get the duck.

Watching mariota highlights, you know who else jumps out at me? The sophomore tight end, munn I think is his name. Big and fast...

We're seriously analyzing a QB's heisman speech. Public speaking is one of the most common fears in the world. He's a soft spoken kid. So ****ing what. All I care about is can he spin it and win us football games. God I was terrible at public speaking in college but it didn't take away any of my athleticism on the field I just got nervous and my mind went a thousand miles a minute. WE can nitpick all we want. He didn't sound unintelligent he just sounded nervous give the twenty something year old a break. He's beloved from all accounts in the OU community as an outstanding kid of great character. That matter more to me than his public speaking ability. This isn't an in or out of favor post but damn you guess will be negative about anything and everything.

Tony Dungy said Mariota is Aaron Rodgers in the waiting.

I'd like to see what Dungy's comments about other draft prospects in the past have been.

    If he's THAT good, he's a no-brainer.

As of right now I am still anti-QB in the 1st. We'll see where I stand closer to the draft. Might change my mind.

One thing that won't change... I will never want Winston. Never.
