During the Titans game vs. the Jets, one of the announcers talked about a bad statistic with the Titans. This statistic is the Titans offense having the fewest 3rd down conversions since 2012. That being said the 'Glaring Stat' is that the last team to have a fewest 3rd downs in a season, was the Arizona Cardinals 2012, coached by Ken Whisenhunt.

Normally, this stat would fall on the Offensive coordinator, but Whiz calls all the plays, and in my opinion may put his calling skills into question.

Am I reading too much into this stat, or does it forecast what we as Titans fans have to look forward to in the future?

    David

Bad QB play. Three guys(Kolb, Skelton and Lindley) started 4+ games that year. Sounds familiar...

I think the comment was that we convert 3rd down at a league low 28%. The last team to have a league low 3rd down conversion at 28% was Whiz's 2012 Cardinals.

8 consecutive seasons with a different starting QB will do that to you.
2012 the Cards started 4 different QB's over the season.

It's not hard to see why those offenses struggled

The QB carousel didn't start when Whiz showed up. Plenty to blame him for, but the Titans haven't had stability at QB since 2004.

I in know way am happy with the job Whiz has done thus far, but at least he doesn't stick with a QB that is not going to be successful. We need a GM that can recognize that talent. If given the talent at QB I believe Whiz could be successful, at least I hope anyways.

I don't understand why Whiz went with Greene so much at RB today. I understand he wanted to stick it to his old team. However, with the situation we are in, isn't getting Sankey some heavy work more important than letting Greene go at his old buddies?? I thought we were going to look at younger guys the rest of the year. Even Webster said earlier in the week on a radio show with PK it would be good to see Sankey get 20+ carries this week to see if the additional carries would help get him going.

I haven't watched a game in weeks because this particular Titans team has made me question my love for football.

Does Whiz seem like an overly defensive @$$hole in his pressers to anyone else? I'm sick of his crappy attitude every time he is interviewed.. You can't be a coach of one of the worst Titans teams ever AND be a d!ck about it too.
