How do I fix the Titans? First, I let go of Whiz and most of the staff (definitely OC, QB coach, OL Coach, and ST Coach...for starters) but it depends on who my next coach is.

Option 1 - Get Jim Harbaugh (might have to give up a 3rd rnd pick to Niners to get him) and see if we can get say...Rex Ryan to coach the defense and the Eagles OC to run our offense using Chip Kelly's system.

For the above scenario I see 5 options at QB. Mariotta, RG3/vet FA, Mett, or other QB like a Hundley type (trying to copy the Russell Wilson QB), trade for Kap. If Mark Sanchez can look good in this offense, we have QB's who should look pretty good too! Plus Harbaugh is excellent at tutoring QB's!

Other coaching option would be Urban Meyer!!!

I would hire Rex if I got an awesome OC so Rex could handle the D and let the OC handle the OFF.

But since that's not going to happen...how would I fix this roster? First I make Whiz fire some staff...OL Coach and ST coaches for starters. These untis got significantly worse while given a good amount of talent!

Right now our keeper players are...KFN = keep for now, CP=Core Player

    QB Mett (KFN), CW (KFN)
    RB Sankey (CP), McCluster (KFN...CP?)
    FB
    TE Walker (CP), Thompson (KFN...CP?)
WR Wright (CP), Hunter (CP), Nate (KFN), Hagan (KFN)
    LT Lewan (CP)
    LG
    OC Schwenke (KFN...CP?)
    RG Warmack (KFN...CP?)
RT Oher (KFN but want to see him play LG or cut)

    LE Ropati (KFN), Jones (KFN...CP?)
NT SLH (KFN), Al Woods (KFN...CP?)
RE Casey (CP), Klug (CP...backup/pass rusher)
    LOLB Morgan (KFN)
    LILB Williamson (CP)
    RILB Woodyard (KFN), Brown (KFN...CP?)
ROLB Groves (KFN as a backup)
    CB McCourty (CP), Harris (KFN)
    CB BWW (KFN...CP?)
    Nickel Sensabaugh (KFN...CP?)
    FS Stafford (KFN...CP?)
    SS Pollard (KFN), Huff (KFN...CP?)

So first, what are our holes? It is difficult to judge our QB play behind the worst performing OL in the NFL. Levitre must be cut. I'd like to see Oher tried at LG as I think he might be decent there. If not, offer him a paycut to vet min to be a backup/compete for a starting spot or cut him. Let's say for arguments sake we cut him. So we need a LG and a RT.

Could use a true blocking FB like John Connor type.

Need starting OLB's on both sides of the ball and upgrades at CB, FS, NT, LE. Would keep Klug and Groves cheap and cut Griff.

In addition, we could use upgrades almost everywhere and need better depth almost everywhere.

The problem with a plan is if I say we should get a free agent LG, the wrong guy is making the decision because Webster has had two chances on Levitre and Oher and got them both wrong. So while I could say Iupati and Free at RT...we have to see what free agents are available and who can give us the biggest bang for our BUCKS!!! One thing is clear, we need to sign a FEW Super Star players. Candidates would be Houston (OLB), Suh (DT), Revis (CB), Bryant (WR), McCourty (FS), etc. Get me at least 2 of these guys! I would consider signing Sam Bradford if the Rams cut him to a 1 yr vet min contract).

And then we build thru the draft! There are 5 teams that appear to need QB's. Titans, Rams, Texans, Raiders, and Bucs. It appears the Texans like Mallett and the Rams like Carr but if the Titans don't take a QB in rnd 1...the Rams seem the most likely interested team and would be a big enough drop to be a large deal (say 1st, 2nd, and 3rd picks this year and a 1st next year to drop for 1 or 2 to 12). Make the deal if possible even if its for a 1st and 2nd this year and a 1st next year.

So let's say we have a 1st (Shelton DT), 2 2nds (PJ Williams CB, Evring OL) 2 3rds (Golden OLB, Flowers OT)), a 4th (Dorsett WR), 5th (Anthony ILB), and 2 6th rnd picks (Washington OLB, Anderson DE)). Let's see what our team COULD look like...

    QB Mettenberger, Bradford, UFA
    RB Sankey, McCluster, Dyer (UFA)
    TE Walker, Thompson, UFA
WR Wright, Hunter, Nate (if he'll stay for $1mill/yr), Dorsett, Hagan, Durham
LT Lewan, Erving (2nd), Flowers (3rd)
    LG Iupati (FA), Erving
    OC Schwenke, Erving
    RG Warmack, Erving
RT Roos (FA), Erving (2nd), Flowers (3rd)

    LE Ropati, Jones, Anderson (6th)
    NT Shelton (1st), SLH, Woods
    RE Casey, Klug, Martin
LOLB Houston (FA), Morgan, Washington (6th)
    ILB Brown, Woodyard,
    ILB Williamson, Woodyard, Anthony (5th)
ROLB Golden (3rd), Morgan, Washington (6th)
    CB McCourty, BWW
CB PJ Williams (2nd), Sensabaugh, Harris
    FS McCourty (FA), Huff, Stafford
    SS Pollard, Stafford, Huff

Free agents in this scenario would be Houston (OLB), Iupati (LG), McCourty (FS) and Roos (OT). While we don't get the sexy pass rushers, we have addressed our biggest needs and created youth and competition. Shelton is a difference maker at NT and a high energy player. Williams gives us an upgrade at CB opposite McCourty. Erving gives us an extremely versatile OL as he can play OT, OG, and OC so he can compete to upgrade one of those positions and be the backup to any as well. Flowers gives us a backup to Roos and Lewan with perhaps him growing into RT for next year. Depth, youth and quality on the OL. Golden gives us a quality pass rusher opposite Houston and is stout against the run. Dorsett is a WR like Wright (smallish) who is super fast and quick. He can also block and can beat the best CB's in college football...a steal in rnd 4. Anthony is another guy that just makes plays when you watch Clemson...a downhill tackling machine! Washington is a quality backup at OLB and Anderson gives us another quality DE to compete once Ropati is gone.

I'd say this is a significant upgrade to the roster and we'd have 2 First rnd picks the following year! Who says you need 3-5 years to reload?

I'd be down with your more realistic scenario B, but I have one giant problem with it, Whiz is still coaching this team and will have 50% turnover through week 8. It's just his way, look up his teams in AZ, he burns through talented players.

You're down your top 2 WRs, so let's play McCluster 5 plays? WTF?

This is very true. My only argument to why not, would be ONLY if we are able to trade down to get more picks. Worse case scenario we suck another couple seasons but all the while, stacking up lots of draft picks. If we hit on more picks than we miss (I KNOW THAT'S A BIG IF LOL), we would have a solid team by the time we find our QB of the future. I.e. very similar to what happened with the Seahawks.

Well you never know about Revis. I mean he did play for the Bucs before the Pats so you never know lol.

I kind of have a feeling if you offer him enough he'd play. I guess the reality though is does it make sense to offer him that much when we aren't one solid CB away. We are like a Solid Defense, Solid Offense, and and Elite QB away lol.

    #1: Lose remaining games

#2: Trade #1 to a team #3-#7 range who's looking to land Mariota. Honestly though, id love Leonard Williams @ 1. Anyways with that trade back we'll likely have their 1st, 2nd, 5th & '16 1st (at minimum).

#3: Draft some f***ing players who will play. I'm tired of these bum veteran players stealing time for our future (Whitehurst, Leon, etc). Need to nail this draft. I'd love Shane Ray in the 1st, NT/OL in the 2nd. Also, we'll likely get a 4th for compensation of losing Verner.

#4: Servicable Free Agents. We need guys who will give us years of play. We have connections with Devin McCourty & Dan Williams. If we could land those two it would be huge.

#5: Cut the trash & I don't care what cap holds it may cost.

We're not going to win a Super Bowl next year. We have young players Wright, Sankey, Hunter, Williamson, Casey, & Mettenberger who hopefully will be embarrassed and take that next step next year. Pairing him will be our draft picks which thanks to the trade is an additional 2 & 5 + 4th for Verner. Alot of new talent, current talent on the team, & we will find out what Mettenberger can do. He'll have a full year, healthy OL w/ Levitre/Oher gone (Lewan/Warmack improved), & improved chemistry with our WR/TEs. If Mettenberger shows up, we'll be decent, & have an additional '16 1st. Hopefully those 3 1sts turn into stars, the young players I mentioned early step up, & Mettenberger steps into a Flacco-Rivers player with experience.

It's a stretch, alot riding in Mettenberger, but he could thrive under Whiz. But, if all aboves happens, we could be contenders soon after.

I've decided to be all in on Mariota again.

    We should draft him.

You only put yourself in a position this high in the draft to take a guy like that every so often.

Take him but we won't because we made one of the worst coaching hires in the league.

Well, I was asked how to fix the roster...

I agree that we are NOT utilizing our best players. Much like my beef with Schwartz not putting his players in their best positions (scheme-wise) to succeed, we are failing badly at this on offense. And it's HIS system and HE'S the guy calling the plays! Not good!!!
