    3) With four starts down, Tennessee's Zach Mettenberger leads all rookie QBs in passer rating. Few in Baton Rouge are shocked. When I talked to LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron about him, he emphasized toughness and leadership. "Zach Mettenberger knows how to win, and understands it's more than just throwing the football," Cameron said. "Most head coaches are looking for that guy."

It's clear. There's a reason he was a 6th round pick. He already ran a pro style offense in college so you can't use he's a rookie as an excuse.

You do realize that how to run a pro style offense isn't the only way that young QB's develop right? Luck ran a pro style offense at Stanford and he was no where near as good his rookie year as he is now. Your logic sucks.

    This is bad reasoning.

"Its clear" "theres a reason why he was a 6th round pick". Yes, his injury and his character concerns, it had nothing to do with his ability and this was widely known before, during, and after the draft.

Running a pro style offense in college is different than the NFL, because its the NFL. Everyone is faster, everyone is better. The game will slow down for him, with experience. He has the tools to deliver the ball. Hes getting the ball out as fast as 1/2 the other QB's in the league. He has a **** offensive line, no run game, and unreliable WR's.

This is the type of QB you can build around. You get him some weapons at WR, you fix this horrid oline, and he will be able to make the passes.

Anyone who is holding out hope to get a Manning, Brady, Rodgers, ect, will be waiting a long time. They dont grow on trees. I just want him to be good enough to justify building around him. In 4 short games, he has shown promise.

Today will be one of those days where everyone jumps off the Mett bandwagon. Losing his best offensive lineman, and replacing an average center with an even worse one. I expect a long day today.

When you are this early into a QB career, you look at the positives and evaluate if he has the talent to go forward. Sure, he has some shortcomings, but they are fixable ones. He can make reads, he can throw the hard passes, and he doesn't get frazzled when everything is going to ****.

He was a 6th round pick because he had a TON of weapons around him in college and underwhelmed. Plain and simple.

He is at the next level and we have to see if his short comings in college fall on how weak his offensive line was.

Meanwhile, Jarvis Landry is having a good but silent season, Odell Beckham is looking like the biggest steal of the draft, and we should have drafted Hill over Sankey. Mett has looked 'okay' in blowouts.

I just can't think of any recent teams that had 4 skill position players come out in the same draft and all turn out to be good at the next level.

The biggest thing about Mett, is that the guy wants to win. I love the determination I see on the field when he plays. I have no idea if that will be enough.

Spot on.. Mett has no OL, run game or reliable WR.. We need to strictly evaluate him as a passer, and he's shown all the tools, not just in flashes either. He can clearly make all the throws -- arm strength, touch, accuracy etc -- It's all there.

Mett is the QB of the future.

Thats my biggest concern about Mett right now. Some of his passes go really high, and behind WR's. That, more than anything, needs to get fixed.
