    Magneto,
if anyone who has played in the NFL since the 80s has an issue with having enough to put food on the table, then there is something missing in their brain. An average NFL player makes way more in 1 year than I do in a decade.

What I am saying, is why would the Titans be anyone's choice, if they had one?

I think you covered all the bases. And the first point would be a very rare thing with the Titans.

Phillips was terrible. He never earned PT, even in pre-season. ...and he quit during a play this weekend. I noticed him literally standing on the field looking around during a run play, then getting his but yanked out of the game for Groves.

Phillips was a back up that contributed little to nothing. Cutting him really doesn't effect much. Getting a look at some younger guys is a very good idea at this point. Maybe it will spend a message to people in the locker room that like Phillips are not playing to expectations. Hell can't hurt too much. Surely a younger guy can contribute as much as Phillips did.

Any player not producing should expect to get cut or benched in favor of another player. The fact is the Titans have not done this enough. They have been too loyal to bad players for too long. that is why we are in this place now. Failing to develop younger guys, expecting bad veteran players to get better.

    Well,

Since we are PAYING Phillips for the rest of the year (unless someone picks him up) he won't be hurting for money and actually this is probably better for Phillips...not us.

Phillips would have been a backup role player and keeping him on a losing team wasn't gonna do much for him except get him paid. Now, a playoff team (<cough> NE) can grab him and he has a chance for more postseason play late in his career.

And for us, bring up the young guys and let's try 'em out. We don't have anything to lose and who knows, maybe one of them can play.

Looks like Dontay Moch is NGU!!!

BTW, Dontay Moch is a speed demon (4.44 40 at the combine and a 42" vertical jump) but the knock on him is he has stiff hips and didn't change directions well in college. He's also on the short side for a pass rushing 3-4 OLB at only 6'1. Was great at tackling QB's but not as much with others though in the WAC he was one of the fastest players on the field. He also was suspended for 4 games (means he's failed twice) for banned substances when he was with the Bengals I believe.

Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes and improved his on the field play to give us something!

    Good luck Phillips!

    Hello Moch!!!

Weird. I just saw him today. Didn't know he was a dead man walking until I got home and read this thread.
