I think he is. Lately, I've been reading a lot of hate on here about him. What has he shown that has proved he can't be a franchise QB?

This will probably get merged, but I think it has a narrow enough topic to deserve its own thread.

I don't think he will be. He hasn't even won a game yet.

No, he hasn't shown me enough.

If we get caught up in the "Well, he played well about 1/4 of plays, let's chalk the bad ones up to inexperience" mindset (again), we will be waiting and waiting just like with Jake.

Not saying he ISN'T the guy. But he hasn't shown enough. I mean hell, he hasn't won a start yet. And we are anointing him a franchise QB?

What has he shown he can?

It's simply too early to know. What this team needs is for him to show enough so the Titans feel comfortable giving him a full offseason and camp as the #1. They then can take BPA in the draft and not overpay for a free agent QB. Then, you ride Mett in '15 and hope he shows enough that the Titans want to invest in him long-term.

And this might deserve a poll but what are the expectations of fans here as to what the Titans QB needs to be? For example, if Mett's upside is Dalton or Cutler or any other number of mid-tier QBs who have had mixed careers, is that enough? Or does Mett need to become a top-10 QB in order for the Titans to be content they have their guy for the next decade?

Way to early to know. Hopefully we will have a clearer picture at the end of the season. I hope he does become our guy though. I like his attitude and the fact that he knows how to throw a football. The team also seems to be rallying around him, but still way to early to tell.

He has potential to be a really good pocket passer. He's shown an ability to adapt to nfl speed, read dynamic defenses like that of Bal and Pitts, manipulate and shift in the pocket and make the big throws downfield in the face of pressure with accuracy.

The next step is for him to continue to learn and command ownership in the scheme and start to attack defenses. We don't know if he will grow into a player of similar of brady or manning, but i think what he has proven so far is worth a shot as the guy. I don't see a rookie who could come in and play at this level in Whiz's offense right now.

Hopefully he will at least earn a chance to be our QB next year so we can draft a stud difference maker. Do I think he is a frachise QB-no. He eats his boogers man.

That's a tough question. He's clearly the guy on our current roster, and since I'm not a big fan of the quarterback class this year I'd say he's our guy by default. At the end of the day we need to see what he does for the remainder of the season, but I will say I'm very encouraged so far.

Is Mett the guy over Mariota, I'd say hell yeah.

Is Mett the guy over Winston, that one is a close call?

Since there is no Andrew Luck type in this draft I'd say Mett is our man at least till a clearly better option presents itself.

I think I'd rather roll with Mett going forward and land a Randy Gregory, than draft a quarterback high.

I think I'd rather roll with Mett going forward and land a Randy Gregory, than draft a quarterback high as well. Mett is playing well and will improve. Once the defense gets more talent and the offensive line gets better this team is gonna be much more tougher.
