    First Mock of the year.

Obviously this year hasn't been very good, with that being said it's time to look at the 2015 draft class. Through trades we have picked up two additional 6 rounders and lost our 7th rounder.

    Also it's predicted we receive a Comp 4th rounder - http://www.fieldgulls.com/2014/3/27/5552638/getting-compd-in-2015

After the season we are having not sure what areas in FA we will target, but for the purpose of this mock I think we will pick up a Vet CB, like we should have done last year.

Titans finish 4-12 and receive the 4th pick in the draft.

    1. Oakland Raiders select Leonard Williams DT USC

    2. Tampa Bay Select Marc Mariota QB Oregon

    3. Jacksonville select Amari Cooper WR Alabama

    1. Tennesse Titans select Randy Gregory OLB Nebraska 6'6 250lbs
The Titans race to the podium to select their guy. Shane Ray is a great compensation if this doesn't happen, but Randy is the perfect fit for what the Titans are desperate for. Long, athletic with a variety of moves. See ya Wimbley. I think we would resign Morgan and have him opposite Gregory. Casey and Gregory on the same side would be a nightmare. I have concerns about his edge setting ability but his pass rushing ability is something we desperately need.

    Round 2 Malcolm Brown DE/DT Texas 6'3 320lbs

We need to add some beef to our line. Playing on a poor Texas team, Brown has been their best defender. Strong and fast with a high ceiling. We need someone on the line with Casey who can penetrate. I really wanted Hageman last year, especially when he slipped to the second round.

    Round 3 Nelson Agholor WR 6'1 190lbs

I don't see Nate being here next year, so I think we will need to look at WR in the draft. Agholor is almost a carbon copy of Washington. He runs great routes and shows good speed. Superb Athlete. I think we get a steal here in the 3rd round, CBS has him ranked 2-3 round.

Round 4 Terry Williams NT East Carolina 6'1 353lbs

The last time we picked a player from here, it went well.....

The proverbial bowling ball, we obviously need a fat NT who can push the Oline back. T.Williams does a great job of this. Moves well for being massive. I watched Shelton as well, but Williams is just more effective.

Round 4 Jeff Heuerman TE Ohio State 6'6 251lbs

Walker, Thompson/Coffman and Heuerman is a nice blend at TE for next year. The Oline has missed having someone willing to block at TE and Heuerman is an above average blocker for a TE. Has good hands, his best football is ahead of him. Has had a poor year at Ohio State, but did miss a few games early. I like his upside though, and Mettenberger has an arm that will get him the ball unlike his current QB.

Round 5 Kenny Bell WR Nebraska 6'1 185lbs

Legit football player, I dont expect him to do that well at the combine but production and football nonce is through the roof. More weapons for Mett. Will keep Gregory company

Round 6 Taiwan Jones MLB Michigan 6'3 252lbs

MLB depth, thumper. I see Williamson and Brown starting next year but we need linebackers who fit the scheme. Run stopper and some weight to a painfully thin LB core.

Round 6 Tyler Marz RT Wisconsin 6'7 321lbs

Hopefully the O-line can continue to improve since the bye week. Marz can compete with Stingly. Wisconsin O'line have a great pedigree, what can go wrong?

Round 6 Merill Noel CB Wake Forest 5'10 181lbs

Hopefull we can sign a Vet CB. Reluctant to throw another young CB in the rotation, that hasnt been working well for us.

Overall we improve the Defense through the draft. Only concerns I haven't really addressed are FS, but I think Huff will end up moving over to that spot behind Griffin. I have done this mock based on the notion that the Oline and QB will continue to improve during the last 6 games. RB is a slight concern but they are a dime a dozen.

    Whatcha all think?

Well the 4th round comp pick is possible, although how can anyone predicted that yet? I suppose if Roos leaves we're maybe in the running, but we'll surely offset that loss with a few free agent signings.

Speaking of free agents, Darrelle Revis anyone? :D

And as for your first pick to us, Im cool with that. Although Im sure as I begin really digging into the prospects later, Ill find a few gems of my own I want us to take, but an edge rusher is certainly on top of my list.

While it's certainly possible for us to have a draft like this, I'd be VERY unhappy to not get an OL before rnd 6. Arguably our biggest draft needs are QB, OLB, OL (OG and RT and depth), WR, FS, blocking TE, depth at CB, and RB.

Our DL is pretty solid so putting a 2nd and 4th rndr to sure up an already good unit while ignoring our OL, FS would disturb me.

On the other hand, if Gregory fell to us I think people would be happy. Not sold yet on him being a top 5 pick and I have yet to watch how Melvin grodon destroyed Nebraska's D. But gregory is certainly one of the top pass rushers. I like Agholor, Jones (who plays for Michigan State btw), and Noel.

Comp picks are for last years FAs, so we'd likely get the 4th due to losing Verner.

As far as the OP, no clue why the Jags would take a WR when they used two 2nds last year on Lee & Robinson.

My thoughts exactly on the Jags and a WR. They have other needs especially on defense. Part of that is hope that Cooper falls to us. He's my current man crush at the moment.

I expect us to get to 4 wins this year. Between Jags, Jets, and Giants we get two. That leaves us (as of now) between Shane Ray and Bud Dupree. I really like Dupree. Goes against the best in the SEC and dominates week in and week out. He is my pick right now. Not a fan of Gregory at all.

What do you mean between Ray and Dupree. How do you see the first round shaking out in your scenario.

I have watched Dupree in 2 games. In the first one I was very impressed...against good competition. In the 2nd game against elite competition, he loafed a lot which annoys me. I have 2 more games to watch on him and Im hoping that 1 game was an aberration but we'll see.

Well I see Gregory being gone and by the time the draft comes around, those two will be the next best pass rushers. Vic Beasley I do not think we fair well when it comes to measurements. What games have you seen of him and which are still waiting to see?

Which games have I seen Dupree in? Fla, LSU, georgia and I have him vs Louisville on tape to watch.

Beasely's measurements will be important not only from a size but a speed equation. But with everyone on their A game, he is the best pass rushing 3-4 OLB in college. Question is, will that translate in the pros. The flipside is a Dupree who you HOPE develops and has a better pro career than college. But he will be subject to measureables too with regard to speed and athleticism.
