    Thats not true

    By Locker's 3rd start he had a win and nearly 800-yards passing, Mett is 0-3 but is showing us things we didn't consistently see from Locker. but to say he's already further than Locker was is a bit of a reach.

    Thats one thing Locker did do well, improve from year to year, he just kept getting hurt.

    Another good thing is if he continues to progress, we can get the best player available and not have to reach for QB. Plus being a 6th round pick he is very cheap as a QB. He has outplayed Bartles, bridge water, and Carr. Not bad for 6th round steal.

    And for people that complain about the 80 yard bomb being due to blown coverage ... That is what all the great QBs do. They make teams pay for their mistakes.

    How often do we see Manning or Brady or Rodgers throw TDs due to blown coverage? all the time. And that is part of what makes them great. You basically have to play a perfect game to beat them. If you make a mistake, you will pay for it.

    Pitt made a mistake, and Mett made them pay.

    And for all the people that say Mett didn't come back and win the game for us ... he wasn't even given a chance. Pitt had the ball with like 7 min left (which in most games would be enough to get the ball back at least once) but they ran it down our throats and forced the D to stay on the field for 7 min to run out the clock ... just pathetic.

    I would LOVE to see Mett get the ball down by 3 points with 2 min left to go ... he could get us to FG range in a flash against the soft coverage that most teams play in that scenario.

    Sure it is ... Neither Jake nor Mett had as much command of the offense as Mett does at this point

    I liked Vince Young. But he was a #1 draft pick because of quite a bit of hype & prototypical measurements. & while he had a decent resume, similar to Winston's... he wasn't ready for the NFL.

    I didn't know Locker before the draft. But he looked like a good prospect when he was healthy enough to play.

    I think the "draftniks" really screwed up this past draft though. Because of guys like Kaepernick, Wilson, RGIII, & even Luck they over-valued athleticism & under-valued some fundamentals. I still liked Bridgewater, but the next QB off the board should have been Mettenberger (hindsight) then McCarron.

    Mett & McCarron have the prototypical size, experience in a pro system, & came from big schools in major conferences. Neither of them have the athleticism of Bortles, or Carr, but they're both much more ready to play in the NFL. Don't get me wrong, I think Bortles & Carr are fine prospects, but they both have a lot to learn & I think their play shows as much. In the NFL, you don't really get a lot of time to "develop" a first rounder... Ej Manuel is already riding the pine.

    I'm not some LSU/Mettenberger groupie. It wouldn't bother me one bit if he crashes & burns and you waste four years to figure it out. But I thought you got a steal in the 6th. I was upset that my coach took Tom Who? but it is what it is.

    & Bortles has yet to have a game like Mett did last night.
