Honestly, this team needs pretty much everything new.

QB: Book is still open on Mettenberger, he has the remaining of the season to prove he can be a starting QB. Two games in and i'm not seeing anything that says he can be. However, the QB crop in this years draft is slim, so don't be surprised if we're stuck with Mettenberger for another year.

RB: Sankey is starting to look better, but Greene/Washington have to go. I have no problem keeping McCluster as our 3rd RB. Would be nice to find a true "power back" via FA or draft (later in the draft).

WR/TE: Wright/Walker have had good years, but i'm extremely disappointed in Hunter. Washington is a FA after this year, probably won't be resigned due to age. I wouldn't be shocked if we went Amari Cooper with our 1st, depending on whom else is available. We also need a #2 TE.

OL: Lewan has been solid and i'm meh on Scwenke. But Oher, Levitre, and Warmack are awful. I was pissed when we took Warmack and everybody convinced me he was set to be an all-pro guard, but he has been a BUST. What a waste of a #10 pick. Roos at 32 might need resigned, Lewan at RT, just because we have so many holes.

DL: I'm happy with Casey & Pito. However, we still need a true NT - Al Woods is better suited for DT and Sammie Lee Hill is average, at best. We have some depth at DE with DaQuan Jones/Klug/Martin - although I think Klug/Martin are both FAs? Too lazy to google.

LB: Our biggest problem, IMO. The 3-4 is all based upon getting pressure on the QB (as is every defense). We need two new starting OLBs. Wimbley/Morgan are average backups, that's about it. Woodyard has shown that he can play and i'm happy with Williamson for the draft spot we got him at. Both could be upgraded, but not our biggest need. Depth is need at ILB.

DB: Griffin has had an up/down year as usual. Pollard is coming off a serious injury, is getting older, can't cover, and get's flags all the time. George Wilson gives me headaches. McCourty is a solid #1, great #2, and we have no depth after that.

We have SO many needs (in order):
    #1: QB
    #2: OLB x 2
    #3: CB
    #4: OG
    #5: OT
    #6: S
    #7: NT
    #8: WR
    #9: TE
    #10: RB

Jesus, literally need starters at every position. This off-season we need Whiz to nail it, or we'll be awful again next year. Great.

Bottom line is we have to build throught the draft. Rare for teams to jettison their talent. Happens sometimes and that is when the quality (or lack thereof) of the GM surfaces. Quality GMs recognize trash from treasure and are skilled at obtaining talent at a value.

We don't have that in our GM. We have such a dearth a talent because our current GM has been involved in our talent acquisition for 5 years. And our owner doesn't know much about football or the business of football TBH.

WAY too many needs to nail in one off-season. Sadly, this will take 2-3 years, and that's IF we get it right this time.

Sigh.. It's so disheartening to see no light at the end of the tunnel, but I don't for a good while.

We have to hope guys like Warmack & Hunter will figure it out.. Finding 1 OG isn't so difficult.. BWW/Sensabaugh/Huff/Stafford.. Give me 2 decent starters from these 4 plz..

But these guys "figuring it out" is far from guaranteed.. I think between Williamson/Woodyard/Brown/Gooden, we'll be fine at ILB.

    Give Tommy some time ffs.

    WE SUCK

Some of you have come to this realization but still continue to complain every week, as if you expected some other type of result. That's on you, not the team.

When was the last time we picked a guy in the first or second rounds of the draft that developed in to anything? Is it the coaches? The owners? The scouts?

I think both Lewan and Sankey will be good.
Warmack and Hunter could be good, but aren't heading that way as of late. Same for Wright and Brown.
All the other 1 & 2's are all gone except griffin, and well..... You know.
