These draft picks and free agents are the reason this team needs to be blown up and redone. The big thing is when blown up need to hit on draft picks and free agents. Especially free agents. One should know what they can do. Have to think locker and warmack were munch's guys. Remember he and the OC pushed hard for locker.

I like the idea for the fact that your more than likely to get better value when trading a QB. If we bring in some late round guys who perform well in preseason and clean-up work we could end up accumulating multiple draft picks.

Is that a myth, though? The teams that have tried to do it lately (the Patriots with Mallett and the Redskins with Cousins) didn't end up finding any value on the trade market.

I also support the idea of always drafting a QB, but not so you can trade him. Maybe you find a gem you can actually use late in the draft. At worst, you always have a good, cheap backup in the pipeline and don't have to waste money on veteran backups.

The seahawks were fooled into giving up their 3rd round pick for Charlie Whitehurst (he was drafted in the 3rd) so they got their money back.

The last big one was Matt Cassel/Schaub/Kolb trades.

I think Patriots shot themselves in the foot with trying to show off Mallet in the preseason which ended poorly. The Redskins asking price was too much for Cousins.

They better get him some weapons on offense though, its pathetic how good the Pats are after constant terrible drafting.

Draft em early and annually until you get one that is good.

Then keep draftin em late rounds annually until you get two that are good.

    Then you can trade one.

QB, OL, DL most important. Least important TE, RB (and FB)... as far as draft. Obviously elite TE or RB can elevate a team but they (usually) aren't worth the draft pick. Assuming the goal is to win a Superbowl.

The game of footbal is won in the trenches....OL and DL elevate every position on the field. You make that your core and build around that....along with a QB of course.

We are where we are mainly because of poor QB play. Poor QB play has led to coaching changes which in turn has contributed to lack of player development. When players are having to spend more time learning new systems then it is harder for them to actually improve. Coaching changes then make the GMs job harder because of the different style of player that is needed to fit the new coaches system. Until we get consistent good play from a QB we will be drifting in the wind.

Looking at the draft picks listed in Wyatt's article the thing that really stands out to me is that obviously we have not drafted a single impact/stud player, but we really have only drafted 1 really good player and that is Casey. McCourty, Wright and Verner are all above avg. players, but everybody else is just an avg or below avg player.

You can't go through that many years of drafting and only come out of it with 1 really good player and 3 above avg. players. If you draft like this you will be an avg. team unless you have a stud QB who can raise the talent level of those around him.

No kidding. when theres nothing worth watching on the field, we can at least have some decent chics to watch on the sidelines. I think our new mascot should be a 44DD stripper with a pole as a prop that she can move around the stadium.[IMG]
