Manning G.O.A.T.?

Back in the day the teams were more balanced....it's a western out there today.

I like Manning, but I just dont think he is the greatest. No one even mentions Favre as being great and he always had the big stats as well, but always threw that untimely interception. Same with Romo....throws close to 30 TDs every year, but he is not a winner.

A-Rod vs Jeter is the best example.....who would you rather have with 2 outs and men in scoring position? The guy with the 600HR's or Jeter who barely hit over 200?

Montana or Manning with 2 minutes left in the SB?

 

Umm you do realize Peyton Manning has the most 4th quarter comebacks in the history of the game right....?

 

If you can't win the biggest game in your life then what good are you?

 

Yes I do and I never said he wasn't good....just not the greatest.

Alot of those 4th quarter comebacks are during the season (not post-season).....half of them probably against the Oilers/Titans.

The 'best' QB in the history of the game could only beat Rex Grossman in the biggest game of his life.

 

Oh we're doing that now? Ok then I guess Tom Brady doesn't get to talk up his SB win vs Jake Delhome.

and 3 a bigger number than 1.

He also beat McNabb and Warner in their prime. Not to mention that Delhomme was not complete garbage when they played. Grossman was always garbage. It isn't even close.

Ask anyone who would they rather have in their prime, Delhomme or Grossman and 100% choose Delhomme.

Its an endless debate, but Montana is at the top right now of greatest QB's of all time!

 

Comparing him to Trent Dilfer on Super Bowls alone is silly but comparing him to a guy like Brady isn't. When Brady had serious weapons like Moss and Welker he shattered regular season records just like Peyton did but for a majority of his career Brady didn't have guys like Wayne, Harrison, Thomas and Thomas etc.

But when you look at the super bowl numbers it is clear that Brady has performed better under that pressure. Manning has never thrown for multiple TDs in his 3 appearances. Manning has never played in a super bowl where he didn't throw a pick. Manning has repeatedly thrown big late game picks to end his playoff run. If Peyton was dominating in Super Bowls and losing the argument would be weak but he isn't playing very well in those games. I am a big Manning fan but I can't give him the GOAT title when he doesn't perform close to elite level when it's all on the line.
