I went back and watched some mett games again. My thoughts.

    1. He is more mobile than you think. I keep hearing he's a statue, not true.

    2. Man can that guy throw a deep ball! Quick release, and places the ball well. Throws not just catch able balls, but leads the receiver, puts it on the correct shoulder.

    3. Obviously, has a howitzer arm.

I dunno, he could well be the real deal. The line needs to step up and protect him though.

It's a win win. Either he comes out like a savior, and we know we have a QB and can take a defensive guy in the first next year, or he blows and we know we need a QB.

Mett just seems like a poor man's Jay Cutler when I watch him play. He's going to sit in the pocket until something open's up or he takes a sack. He's going to rely on his arm too much, forcing throws and having a high turnover count. He has the SEC QB mentality of just trying to sling it around, he won't be a high completion rate passer. I think he's a solid QB. I didn't really want him in the draft but when we took him in the 6th I was happy, all about draft value. I think he can be a pretty good QB in the NFL but it's going to take some time. He has the arm, size, smarts, pro style guy so easier transition, and is fairly accurate. Just has to work on his decision making and footwork in the pocket. The key for guys entering the NFL is adaptability, you can't do the same stuff in college and expect to succeed. You have to continue to improve and develop different areas in your game, does Mett have the tools? We'll see.

Question for all posters: Do you think he'd fit better in a pro style, or spread so he can continue to gun? (hypotheticals)

He's a pro style guy. His best year at LSU was with Cam Cameron as his OC last year.

Pro Style! I really believe Whiz can bring out his best. Of course I am overly optimistic due to the announcement!
