If he thinks Mett gives us the best chance to win, or wants to play Mett then he needs be leader, grow a pair and say "Zach has proved to us that he is ready to start for this team at QB."

Just look at what other coaches are doing in the NFL.

Pete Carol did it in SEA. He sat his big money veteran FA for a 2nd round rookie ... and now they have a SB

Harbough's 49ers were having a really good year with Alex Smith, who had taken them to the POs before and was the 'safer' pick, but he made the transition to the unproven youngster Kaep. And they went to a SB as well.

Now granted, those 2 teams were in much better position to see their QBs succeed (both had really good D and run game) and Zach is a 6th round pick (not 2nd). But yes I agree that you should play whoever you truly feel is the best player. Not play games because you named someone the starter or backup or whatever in the offseason

 

If Locker is "on" and doesn't manage to get hurt then he gives us the best chance to win. But those two things occurring at the same time doesn't seem to happen very often. Once so far this season.
