I'd rather be the Jets ... Sure they suck, but the GM has been hoarding money for a reason. He is about to get rid of Geno and Rex, so they are looking at a brand new coach, and probably a top pick QB. Then on top of that, they have a lot of money to go out and spend on FAs. And, unlike the Titans, they have a GM not named Webster, so there is the possibility that he might actually bring in some talent in the draft and FA.

Also, they at least have the balls to put CJ in the back seat ... Something we could never do.

Also they get to be on TV and ESPN more often.

It was funny that herm Edwards and Mangini were tossed out and for
Well, their GM gave CJ a contract so I don't have any faith in the free agents he's looking to bring them! Then again, we gave Griffin $8mil/yr for his talent...NOT his production (and he's not a rookie).

Rex sat CJ, but CJ wasn't their star RB, he's a guy who needs to earn playing time nowadays and he could care less.

If Whiz and the Titans go 3-13, should he be fired? This is a team that dramatically regressed, and had an easier schedule...it shouldn't be immediately discounted

I don't think any outcome would warrant firing Whisenhunt after one year. I wouldn't blame anyone for wanting him gone but I just think you gotta look at what he was working with here. This team wasn't going to get fixed in one offseason. We're a far cry from the 2013 Chiefs, talent-wise.

It looks really, really bad right now. But I think any HC deserves at least two years. I'm really interested to see what this team looks like in 2015 with a QB not named Jake Locker at the helm. If we're still awful, then yeah it may be time to start discussing kicking Whis to the curb.

I am normally the guy shouting that a coach needs some time. That said, if Whiz continues to game-plan like he's cradling eggs and never show second half adjustments literally at all you have to wonder if it wouldn't be better to cut losses now.
Some guys just aren't head coach material. David Shula, Rich Kotite, Bill Peterson etc.

Whether he "deserves" to be fired is a valid discussion I suppose. But there's literally a 0% chance he will be. We gave him a 5 year guaranteed deal. There's no way they're going to throw in the towel and eat that contract after one bad year in new systems and not a legitimate starting QB to be found.

Oh I'm not holding my breath - and I do think 5 games is a bit early to freak out when 1-4 was probably where TN was expected to be at this point.
Last five games of the season will be more telling than these first five..
