I'm with you I don't want the FO getting delusional about a couple late season meaningless games. We have to many needs to pass on a franchise QB. (I feel Mett has the tools to be that guy, but want to see it first before passing on a QB)

OK- well that's where we differ. I don't see 6-10 as being any better than 2-14. In fact I think latter has more advantage for roster building.

I'd prefer the long game. We are stuck in "middle-hell". We need all the advantage we can get in drafting. Or we could get a new GM and scouts.

It might be just a bit too early for Met, but we are getting very close. We go 1-5 or 2-6, then yeah its definitely that time.

Remembering him play during the preseason, I thought he was actually pretty accurate. I'm also not going to hold much against him when we threw him in the fire couple weeks ago.

His footwork could use some work, and definitely he needs to learn to sense the rush and throw faster, but unlike (in)accuracy or constantly getting injured, those are very coachable and can be gained through experience.

We're on track for 5 wins.. Im not sure how far into the season we want to go before we put the kid in and let him get some game experience.

I love the Nashville Media that claims Locker or Charlie are our BEST CHANCE to win. Am I wrong for laughing every time I hear a radio host or writer state this? Does it really matter at the end of the day if you are 1-4 and not to mention, we have lost 4 straight. I believe this week vs Jacksonville is a perfect week to start QB7 *Mettenberger*. Jacksonville is 0-5, were 1-4. Rather him start now than a few weeks from now @ Baltimore for example.

What people need to realize (media) is we stink. Our defense is pathetic and QB is not a main concern. However, we need to figure out who our QB is going to be for the future and that really impacts how we fix our defense moving forward. So if Mett is unprepared and truly not ready, then fine. But don't give me the line, Locker and Charlie are our BEST CHANCE TO WIN garbage.

Mett should start not only because he's the youngest but because he's the best QB on the team. Jake has been inaccurate his entire career but we should keep starting him because Mett didn't look great in his first 5 NFL passes in garbage time of a blowout with 0 starter reps? C'mon man, we gotta do better than that,

I agree. We should at least give Mett a start with a week to gameplan before we judge the extent of his potential. In preseason, he definitely made some throws Locker hasn't even considered. Mett may not be the answer or our future, but in my opinion he certainly can make the throws at this level.

We just signed a new head coach and are only five games into his first season. Only a few fans with their heads in the clouds thought Whiz was going to be able to see a lot of success heading into this season.

So you're in it to lose out for the "long game", right? Like that ever guaranteed anything (see the Bengals from the majority of the last 20 years).

I would have zero respect for this franchise if they gave up on the season just five games in just to try out a long-shot or get a higher pick next year.

I would prefer Whiz build a mindset that teams like the Patriots and Steelers have. You can't have that if you aren't willing to play the guys who give the team the best chance to win.

Seriously? When the Titans had a big lead and it mattered, the run game sputtered. But I guess you think Whiz gave up on it just cause he wants to see CBJ in action.
