If he hits the WR (forget who it was) on what should've been an easy TD throw then he never takes that shot to the head diving into the endzone. Just saying.

Bottom line is he's just not accurate enough, consistently enough, to be a franchise QB. As for the injury stuff, I really do hate it for him. It's almost unreal how often the dude gets hurt. He's played 4 games this year and been injured 3 times already. Snakebit, like you said.

Maybe the angels will still let him try his hand at baseball.

It's nothing against Whitehurst (he's been a million times better than I expected and is not the issue), but we know for a fact he is not our future QB.

We need to answer that question for Mett too... start him the rest of the season and see what happens. If he struggles, you take a QB in the 1st no matter what. Then you can have a QB competition between Mett and rookie.

I'm down. I wouldn't be upset if we didn't see him until after the BYE, to be honest. Give him as much prep in practice as possible.

Yes now is the time to start Mett. At the beginning of this year I was on board with giving Locker his 1 last chance to prove not only that he can play, but that he can stay healthy as well. At this point, there is no need to even comment on whether or not he has the talent to play NFL QB because he can't stay on the field.

I feel there is really no reason to move forward with Jake or CBJ at this point. CBJ was brought in to be the 'backup' and that is exactly what he should do ... backup, whether it is backing up Jake or Mett is irrelevant. He was brought in because he 'knows' the system and can help the other QBs along ... He was not brought in because he can 'execute' the system and to win games ... he proved that he can do that these last 2 weeks.

He may be able to play average, game manager type ball, but WHO CARES!?!?! If we had a great D or great running game to carry this team to a shot at the POs then sure, stick with CBJ (a la KFC). But we don't. So why bother?

Don't give me the "well he is the back up and didn't do anything to lose the job" ... Newsflash, He didn't do anything to earn the job either. Just because he is a 9 year vet doesn't mean he should get to play, especially in an era where young QBs are playing very well early on in their careers. I mean, is Fisher still the coach or something?!?!?

We all know that CBJ won't be taking us to the playoffs, so sticking with him does nothing for us now or in the future.

Honestly, I am not even sure we would beat the Jags with him next week. I mean he did basically give up a 28-3 lead against a crappy team. (I know it wasn't entirely his fault, but any decent QB can convert at least a few 1st downs in the 2nd half to keep his team in the game)

I really see almost 0 reasons to watch the games if CBJ or even Locker play now. I don't want to see us get humiliated week in and week out for no reason at all ... at least with Mett in the game we know we are playing for the future, and might find some bright spots to build on.

He managed to do well in the preseason before we really did any game planning to win. With a weeks time he should be good to go, well as good as he's gonna get right now.

Let the kid play asap, we have nothing to lose.

He's going to take his lumps and make mistakes but if he is healthy enough, you have to see what you've got. I don't see the downside

Also, this is a great week to start Mett for a myriad of reasons ...

    1) It is against the Jags ... If anyone doesn't want to start Mett too early due to fears of shattering his confidence, what better opponent to start with than the Jags? He very well may win his 1st start against them, and that should boost confidence if anything

    2) It is against the Jags ... Seriously, no one may even show up to this game to see Titans vs Jags. It is a horrible boring matchup that not even Titans fans and that 1 Jag fan want to sit through. However, they might want to watch 'Mett vs Bortles', 2 of the best looking rooks in preseason. You could bill this game as the 2 QBs of the future playing against each other. At least that could drum up some interest in an otherwise uninteresting game...

    3) After 3 humiliating losses, this fan base needs something ... anything ... to latch onto. I think there is already a pretty big ground swelling for Mett anyway. If they put him in, it would appease the fans and we would be MUCH more likely to accept losses if it is to help get our 'potential franchise QB' reps and exp. Fans aren't stupid (well not all of them), they understand that the Rook will take his lumps and make rookie mistakes, and they can deal with that. Its hard to deal with your 4th year 1st round pick or a 9 year vet still taking his lumps and making mistakes.

    4) We are on a 4 game losing streak, and have been out scored by our opponents by like 71 points or something like during that span. Cowboys, Bengals and Colts all beat the crap out of us, and we just lost a game that we lead 28-3. This is a team that finds ways to lose more than any other Titan's team I can remember ... So its not like it can get any worse with Mett in there anyway. In fact, you could say it could only get better from here.

    5) Tom Brady ... Who knows, Mett could be our Tom Brady. Why should we delay that?

    6) Mett is the 'ideal' Whisenhunt QB ... lets see what Whiz can do with a QB that actually fits his system.

    7) The more reps for Mett the better, so start him sooner rather than later
