Dungy had a lot of success in Tampa Bay. Belicheck did well with Bledsoe. Holmgren had a lot of success with Hasselbeck and Reid has Alex Smith looking like a star. Great coaches build a system to maximize the potential of the players they have. Whiz seem to be set in his ways and if a player doesn't fit what he wants to do, then so be it, we'll just lose until
they learn to play his system.

Takes more than a few games to change the entire culture of a team, and one HC in any organization cannot do it alone. This team lacks integrity and it will take a more competent effort from the front office working with a coaching staff to achieve a playoff caliber team. Plus, you would have to be an idiot to think the talent we have acquired over the last few seasons were anything more than mediocre. There is not one player jersey worth buying in the titans section. Fickle "fans" with too high expectations......get real

I disagree. I liked the call to go for it on 4th...

Whiz knew our defense was gassed and had nothing left. Gotta be aggressive in that situation IMO.

If we had punted the ball there, the Browns would've marched down the field and scored anyways... and it would've left us with even less time and no hope whatsoever.

The problem I have wasn't with going for it on 4th. I had an issue with the QB sneak... because our OL is a useless POS with no push. Might as well have tried a play action pass and completely throw them off guard.

I also think there was plenty of time left on the play clock. Why not at least attempt to draw them offsides? I guess that just shows how bad our OL is. We were worried they'd false start.

Andy Reid went into Kansas city and started off 10-0 as 1st year coach, bill obrion is doig okay with houston Texans,Arizona's coach is doing ok and last year 10-6 in his 1st year as coach....so this 1st year as head coach stuff shouldn't even be said....

This organization's dysfunction has me nearly speechless and absolutely apathetic. Each week is another new low point.

My football soul has been robbed. I deserve better for my money.

It is a real good thing I am dealing with a bad head cold right now so I really couldn't yell yesterday but I am tired of yelling and getting angry because where does that get me really to do the same thing over and over year in and year out. This organization has not shown any improvement over the last few years but this game was hard to watch. This team should be embarrassed! 1-4 This season is a lost cause already imo.

Generally I agree with this, although I am starting to hedge on the "3 year" thing. This season is a mulligan with me....new system, less than total personnel control, etc.. However, I expect to see improvement next season. If it looks like we are doing more of the same next season, I will be losing patience as well.

Beyond the debacle on the field yesterday, another thing that concerned me was when watching Whis's post game press conference on video. He has no problem calling out his players (which I am fine with BTW), but he seemed to be almost defensive about issues that are on him. I would be very concerned if we have a coach who is all about accountability as long as it does not include him...that is a recipe for a toxic locker room IMO.

Also, his answer on the QB sneak ("it has the highest % of success over the past few years") was almost laughable. While I do not know the statistics on this, I am reasonably sure that the study he is referencing did not take into account the condition of the QB being a career backup who had never been in a game critical situation like that while in the NFL. The game is more than stats....I hope that he was just dancing with that answer and was not actually serious.

Most of them would have never got the chance, if not for the first good teams/qbs.
Dungy was supposed to have been a defensive guru, and his defenses were horrid in Indy. Manning carried the defense for over a decade. He knew this, and got out before Manning lost his edge. He is a genius for that.

If not for Favre, holmgren would not have got that Seahawks gig.
And belichick would not be memorable for his work with Bledsoe. He was known as a loser while HC of the browns.

Perfect example of how the coach can only perform as well as the players allow.

I agree. He should own the decision HE made to trust that our grossly underperforming interior OL could seal the victory. That is completely and squarely on HIM.

I like the idea to test the team by going for it. I like that he understood they were going to score whether they started from their side of the field or not. I think it was a huge gaffe to attempt a QB sneak (or even a run up the middle).

I don't like that he doesn't own such an obvious error in judgement he made.

Yeah, I said next year would have to be better to get a 3rd season.

Pretty much agree on Whis, hate to say. I noticed the "accountability for everyone but me" vibe as well and agree it can lead to resentment and loss of respect. And yeah, that 4th down decision and explanation.... laughable. IDK all I can do is hope this all proves to be an anomaly in the long run.

Whisenhunt talks the talk, but at some point you gotta start winning ball games.
