We haven't been in the top 5 since 2006 then before that 1995. Which is the only chance of getting (what appears to be) gotitans favorite Maroita. There isn't much separation between QB's. Mannion (starting out bad this year after an impressive junior season) and Cook are probably the next best prospects.

Judging by my gut how Whisenhunt QB track has been in Arizona I wouldn't be surprised he passes in the first round.

My option #1 is still Mariota. I think he's ours of we draft before the Bucs. However, if hes gone I wouldnt mind taking the Raiders dradr approach of last year.. defensive stud (Mack) in the 1st and QB (Carr) in the 2nd. This year thatd be Randy Gregory amd Connor Cook/Bryce Petty.

So no one is worried that when Petty didn't play his backup came in and put up 438 yards, five TDs and ran for another score?

That offense is the new U of Houston offense. Find a guy who can throw a spiral and watch him put up numbers.

And the QBs he had in Arizona were abysmal.

If we take a QB, it better be in the first round. I know everyone is afraid of the bust, but we need to at least TRY. Can't keep going with Collins, Hasselbeck, Fitzpatrick, Whitehurst... I know Young & Locker were mistakes, but you have to try.

Winston probably won't come out. Honestly he looks incredible but obviously we're all terrified of him, as we should be..the VY experience doesn't help.

Mariota is my guy. And we better not pass on him because of scheme, that would be ridiculous.

If Whiz isn't willing to adjust for Jake and win now, why do it for anyone else? Whiz knows one way and only that one way. Cardinals fans warned me about this.
If Whiz doesn't have his elite pocket passer, he's not that great.

I agree. All I'm saying the QB situation was shaky at Arizona and he went with Kolb and late round guys. Yet again he comes to Tennessee and drafts a late round QB when there was already a question mark at the position. Doesn't seem like he is learning from past mistakes.

Petty isn't 1st round consideration. Has some tools but isn't worth a look until the 3rd round or later.

I been disappointed with Whiz abandoning the run early. I understand we need to play catch-up. However, our runningbacks pick up first downs and positive yards. Let the defense catch their breathe and gain some TOP. It seems like he is stuck in his ways (some ARZ players complained of this and stated if it wasn't for Warner they would have never adjusted the offense.)

Honestly it's not about adjusting to me. Jake just isn't a very good QB. How many times over the last 2 starts did he simply miss open receivers? 10-15 times? That has little to do with scheme.. He can't hit his target. Doesn't matter about coach/scheme if you can't hit an open target. Mariota would be an adjustment for Whiz, but talent makes everything work, and Mariota is damn talented.

And honestly, I think you can say 95% coaches "struggle" when their QB is crap, so you can throw that "doesn't have elite pocket passer he struggles" BS out the window.

It's too early to say he isn't learning from past mistakes. He had to find out about Locker, a former #8 pick. He's now found out, and he'll draft a Qb this summer. He won't make the same mistakes that cost him his job in ARZ.

Petty is so far off the radar Lol
