I doubt Winston comes out this year I see him staying to rebuild some character issues.

Mariota i'm 50/50 even if he is the top QB in this draft class, our luck we will have a tough year but be just good enough to not get a top 5 pick.

We need to focus our attention towards:
    Connor Cook
    Sean Mannion (my early favorite)
    Bryce Betty
    Kevin Hogan

Tall strong armed pocket passers that Whiz seems to like. I find it hard for the front office to go after another mobile Qb after failed Locker and Young experiments. I think the drafting of Mettenberger should be a sign to what Whizwants.

Hogan isn't for 1st round consideration but he does fit the mold of a Whisenhunt Qb, which is why he was added to the list.

He's also a marginal college starter. We already have a guy like that in Mettenberger. No sense in using another pick on a guy like that when you haven't given the first guy an opportunity to show what he can do.

If we take a QB it needs to be in the first round or not at all. Too many needs on the rest of the team to take another developmental QB.

Unless Mett lights it up, we will be taking a QB in the first. We will likely be picking high enough to get who we want.

We must take a Qb in the first?
Since we have drafted Vince Young there has been 12 bust out of 18.
    Young
    Leinart
    Russell
    Quinn
    Shanchez
    Freeman
    Bradford
    Tebow
    Locker
    Gabbert
    Ponder
    Weeden

I left the last two draft classes out because the jury is still out on them. The successful ones have been Newton, Ryan, Flacco, Stafford, Cutler, Luck.
Griffin and Tennehill being boarderline (50/50).

So please tell me is there a surefire QB in this year draft class? Or is there a chance to land a Dalton, Wilson, Kaepernick, or Foles.

We don't have to. I wouldn't be opposed to taking a guy like Dante Fowler or Mario Edwards to bolster our **** front-seven, but if we take a QB it's going to be in the first. We'll more than likely be picking high enough to have our pick of the litter.

I would be opposed to taking a marginal college starter in the fifth round.

I also think it's kind of funny that you list the four mid-round picks that have worked out but don't mention the dozens who haven't. Go ahead and look at the starters in the league. The majority were selected in the first round with a smattering of second round picks.
