I'm talking about that 4-2 record which would have been 5-1 had he hit an open Kenny Britt against Houston, and a passer rating bordering 100. Also throwing no picks in the first four weeks. He was pace for a breakout year, I don't think anyone here is denying that. If you are, you're just being irrational cause you're mad.

So yeah, the Locker in 2013.

 

Good lord.. it's hysterical how you guys go from LOCKER IS A FRANCHISE QB to STAR THE ROOKIE 6TH ROUNDER after two bad games. Yeah I agree he needs to step up and prove himself this year. That said, we're 1-2 with an easy ass schedule. Gotta give him and our brand new coaching schemes some time.

 

This is the great lie that is apparently going to continue to be perpetrated. When in the F has Jake Locker played "very well", consistently?

Here's the actual numbers since he became the starter so you tell me.




21 starts and only 7 times (that's 1/3) has he had more TDs than turnovers.

21 starts and only 2 300+ yard games.

In over half of his starts he has thrown for less than 200 yards.

So please, spare me this "When he's good he's REAL good" nonsense. It's just not the truth. Jake's only played exceptionally well in a handful of games in his 4 year career. And that ain't nearly good enough.

 

Did I ever say he was a great QB? I said he was on pace for a breakout year in 2013. Locker is a Jeckyll and Hyde QB who is really good when he's on, but a mess when he's not.

Do you honestly believe Clipboard Jesus or the 6th round rookie who hasn't even passed an injured Whitehurst on the depth chart would give us a better chance to win?

Well, that's why angry irrational fans aren't coaches and managers. I'll agree that it might come to that this year if Locker can't get his crap together. But it's too early. We're 1-2. I think most of us expected to go 1-3 or 2-2 in September seeing how difficult our schedule was.

I'm not angry, or irrational. I am someone who has watched the first two games 5+ times, and the last game a few times as well.

Locker isn't going to get it together, he cant. His problems are basic QBing problems, that he cannot do on a consistent basis. I am not mad at Locker, I am disappointed because I really liked the guy and I wanted him to work out. He is the type of QB that I can like, as I liked McNair, if he was worth a damn.


He has some positive things about him, like his arm. He is just missing too much, upstairs, to be the guy we need.
