Honestly I'm not so sure he ever even actually progressed much in the first place. IMO he had one great play against the Chargers last year and one great half against the Jets. Other than that he was average at best. He just wasn't asked to do much and didn't turn the ball over pre-injury. I think a lot of people chose to believe he had turned the corner because they wanted to believe he turned the corner. But in reality he was just same old inconsistent Jake. He just happened to be in the middle of a hot streak when he got injured.

I don't see us making the playoffs period, never really did, and think it would be a mistake to turn over the offense now to Mett. There is the possibility of hurting a QB by playing him too early, I think Mett could fall into that category. Again, once we are officially out of the playoff he can get his 4-8 games of experience this season.

It may be really hard to believe but I really do like Jake. It's getting to the point that it's tough to watch him struggle because I can imagine how disappointed and embarrassed he is after these performances. It brings me 0 pleasure to watch a good man fail. Benched him for his own sake already.

Very good observation and one I actually thought about quite a bit as the season circled the drain last year, he wasn't exactly looking all that great in the Niners, and Rams games, and was pretty mediocre in the Jags game until he got hurt. Bottom line is he isn't a starting caliber QB in the NFL, it's plain to see, I'm not even sure he is a quality back up option at this point... Great guy, hards worker, team guy, great community representative, but he just flat out sucks as a starting QB and it's not even a close debate for me any longer. I wanted to drink the Kool Aid, but not any longer, I am flat out done believing he will ever turn the corner, it's NEVER going to happen.

Those last few deep shots he threw either right before kebdalls amazing play or the drive after were pretty telling..
He didn't look confident. He looked like I do when im losing one on one so I jus start chuckin up threes jus to get the game over with missing most if not all of em.

Dude, if you are going to post here often, you really need to learn how to write in complete sentences with punctuation and whatnot. This stream of consciousness gibberish separated by eclipses isn't cutting it.

Yardage is not what you should be looking at. Jake holds the ball too long, stares down receivers, does not read defenses, consistently throws over & behind WRs, panics when he has a clean pocket, and doesn't run when he has open field. His decision making is horrible. Throwing across your body across the field in the cardinal sin at QB and Jake showed us exactly why with that pick. These are not things he did just in this game. He repeatedly makes these rookie mistakes. Jake is not the answer at QB and we MUST know before the end of THIS season if Mett is the answer. I am not saying that he is, but we must find out!

And another reason Locker had more yardage that Dalton...... That is all the yardage Dalton needed. He didn't have to take chance down field. He was accurate with his passes and made his throws count! Locker needed to have twice the yardage he had and no picks. Yardage no matter how high means nothing in the end if you throw picks and cost your team completions.

I am back to feeling embarrassed about our team, and once again, Jake is the main reason. I could care less about Cincinnati having a great Defense...WELCOME to the NFL!!!! Teams will face plenty of good defenses. The problem is honestly the basics. Pocket presence, accuracy, and taking control/reading defenses. The bottom line is that it's Jake's fourth year, and he isn't improving. I can't believe how horrible he is at missing wide open receivers. Ken needs to address this and fast.
