Adrian Peterson Indicted

I never got spanked as a kid. I also have a respect for others and for authority.

I also don't hate my parents, so there's that.

Then again, I probably shouldn't be mouthing off on this issue since I don't have kids and thus only a one sided perspective I suppose.

 

I was beaten and don't hate mine either....probably needed it...after further consideration I am quite sure I did. Of course I was born before the generation where everyone got a trophy.

 

That said, there is something to be said for teaching your kids to avoid doing bad things for the reasons that they are bad, not for fear of being punished.

 

And your proof of that is your lack of trophies? I was an all state athlete in high school and near the top of my class. Don't taboo this thread by trying to pull the entitlement card with me.

 

My dad is my best friend, but he made sure I knew when I messed up as a kid/teen.


I think it's crazy when I'm at the store and I see kids acting up and parents not doing a damn thing.

 

That kid of his that died was one of those one night stand kind of babies. He barely flinched when he found out one of "his" kids died.

 

Details of the abuse have been released, and it's safe to say AP went way too far with spankings.

It'll be interesting to see what his punishment is.

 

Those pics are not of an ass. That tells me that AP has bad aim, or doesn't realize there are places where you don't strike your kids during discipline.


Edit: After seeing a video, there is no excuse for this. AP will be charged and should be.

 

Yeah you don't make a 4 year old bleed from multiple wounds as discipline. No way! I got whooped pretty good myself (always well deserved) but my father never made me bleed. I got the belt on a few occasions, but never without my clothing covering the area being struck. It hurt, without injuring. I would never do that to my son and shame on anyone who does. That sh*t's completely unnecessary! No sympathy for Adrian at all here. WTF?
