I notice our CB's seem to make more big plays at RCB than LCB. Weren't both McCourty's picks from the same area in coverage that Verner made a living on last year...

Good observation. I'm really excited to see how we handle a real down field passing team like the Cowboys this week. I expect a shoot out.

If Im the Cowboys I actually take the ball and hand it to Murray, Romo costs them dearly.

It'll be a good test for the D as a whole. Cowboys suck, but they suck because of their "new" D and when Romo fails. Their WR corps are solid and Murray is good as well. That said, clearly our new coaches know how to gameplan, just look at what we did to Charles on Sunday. That makes me believe we can shut Murray down, the rest comes down to the secondary. Really pulling for BWW.

Against that Cowboys D, I might just start Locker over Brady this coming week. Starting Brady lost week one for me :(

Well, the first game of the season proves you wrong on both accounts (doesn't compete or break up passes). While Jmac plays less of a trail type coverage, he used his catchup speed to catch up to Avery and out-catch him for 2 INT's. They weren't thrown at him, he caught up and out jumped Avery for the ball. And on the 3rd INT, he was playing off and came in and broke up the pass...which is exactly the opposite of what you say he does. Watch the game tape!

I don't care if Avery has 100 yds (not all 84 were against JMac btw) if JMac gets/causes 3 turnovers!!!

Actually, there is a stat for First Down %...which would give you more of the picture if a guy had a ypc avg of say 3.0 but a FD % of 80%...you could get the idea his YPC is low because he ran a lot of 3rd and short/goal line and was very successful! But most people don't look at those kinds of stats...

What will be interesting to see is also if we have destroyed the Chiefs season with the loss as well as the loss of their personell.

If we can beat up Romo, we can wreck the Cowboys chances too. Gonna be a lot of opportunity for the Titans to rush the QB!!!

    It isn't "hating"...

It's funny. The guy has 2 ints fall into his lap while playing a team that has basically a 3rd string WR as their only threat... and you guys are crowning McCourty king?

Come talk to me next week. :)

Yep. Thus the reason I said "easily accessible" (stats)...

You typically have to subscribe to a special stat program to get those. Or at least I haven't been able to find a decent free source for the more in depth stats.

I agree that Donnie Avery is light years from Dez Bryant, but McCourty didn't have two INT's fall into his lap. He caught Avery with his speed and was more agressive going for the ball than Avery. He also played off-coverage and broke in and broke up that last pass to deflect for our 3rd INT.

He played very well and I will take giving up even 80yds (though that was NOT all on McCourty) and only 50% completion if we get 3 INT's!!! Much more important than no INT's and giving up only 1 catch.
