Whiz is done with Brown by the sound of the press conference today. What stood out was a comment on Brown rising to the challenge of being called out in public and handling it in a positive way. It reminded me of his tone when addressing Mariani's release, an endorsement/goodbye of sorts.

Groves plays OLB, he can't play ILB. If anyone is making the move inside, maybe Ayers could in some packages. I didn't have high hopes for Brown this season but it's still a loss. This team really doesn't have great depth so whenever someone who was slotted for significant play goes down, it's going to hurt. I was hoping he would step his game up but oh well. Now we have to rely on Gooden who was considered a project by some and a rookie Williamson. Hopefully we add someone else.

We didn't even notice Brown missing really which shows how important the game plan is/was compared to when they left everyone man on man. It was VERY noticeable how often Wilson played an ILB position (ostensibly to either cover Charles or Spy Smith).

Ayers should start getting some reps at ILB to see if he can play there. Question is, will he or will they go with Gooden/Williamson?

Ayers was inactive versus Groves because they didn't need his pass rush and Groves plays special teams! Essentially, Groves is replacing Bailey but also knows the defense cold and can add a little pass rush.

Ayers has nothing to do with this he plays OLB. Although I guess he could theoretically get looks there now. I hope Gooden keeps the job he seemed to do pretty well filling in.

This fanbase generally has a low tolerance for players who are entitled and selfish. And for that I am glad.

You're right.. But Whiz himself said Brown has done a good job changing his perception of him. Gooden is a similar athlete, so hopefully we won't miss a beat.

Why people are unhappy with Brown is beyond me. I've watched him closely over the years and he could have been really good for us, ESPECIALLY with this revamped D and new mentality.

Ayers sucks, time and time has been given chances, and he's never showed me that he's got it and I've called him out for years now... Brown has... That first year and parts of last year, he was playing great ball...

Oh, and its not like we have 4 EPIC LBs on the bench ready to take his spot... We have Gooden and Williamson with 'potential'

Our entire D and team morale was horrible last year, people pointing @ Brown, or rather singling him out, just doesn't make sense.

Watch the post game quotes of Washington (and Pollard, or might have been someone else) they talked about how they have not seen the team like this before - with this mentality/mood. Most post game talk is 'blah-blah' but not that...

I really hope Brown doesn't go to IR and that he can come back. From the current 4, KW is actually the one I'd choose to replace right now - Morgan, Brown & Wes I want to see more of in this system.

Id love for Williamson to step it up. Sounds like its Goodens job though.
