On a side not, getting back to the op, it will be interesting to see Harris and Groves play onto the field by week 4-8.

Of course the Seahawks won due to their suffocating D and specially their crazy pass rush. I don't take anything away from that but Russell Wilson wasn't exactly along for the ride. He may have been 32nd in yards but was 13th in QBR, and had a 101.2 rating. In that superbowl he threw for 206 yards and 2 TDs, not overly impressive but more importantly he completed 72% of his passes with an 88.1 QBR, and a 123.1 rating. In short they had a very good QB on the field that night.

My point isn't that the best QB will always win. What I'm saying is that without an at least good QB (which Wilson is more than good) you don't have a chance. Do you believe that if the Seahawks had Blaine Gabbert behind center they win the superbowl? Can't Pete Caroll just coach'em up? No. The best QB doesn't guarantee you victory but without a good one your team is going nowhere fast. To me that indicates that having a good QB is more important than coaching. Now when you have 2 teams with comparable QBs/talent coaching is everything. But I see that as a slightly different discussion.

Yes- there is a need for a response. You're late to the party and apparently didn't read the dialogue for context but rather reacted to text. The point that was made was that another poster was saying that Munchak is not responsible for Locker being hurt, and had Locker not been hurt would have definitely saved Munchak's job. That's a big assumption considering how poorly our defense played during his tenure and how the offense struggled for reasons OTHER than Locker. Surprised to see you post that ONE player's absence would be the deciding factor in a head coach's record of performance. Quality HC's make adjustments and position a team for just such an event.

In regards to Munchak and Locker: Munchak stated that Locker was "his guy" while responding to questions regarding that pick might be a reach. Let's not be naive and think that Webster picked Locker alone or told Munchak that Locker was going to be "his guy". Munchak is responsible for his role in selecting a QB with an injury history AND for his

I'm not knocking Locker here. But I am knocking Munchak as a head coach. I did not state he was the worst coach in history as you referenced. However, to be clear, I knocked his selection from Day one. He was handed the job. He had limited choices for his staff due to the timing of the "hand-off" of the job, but he made continued poor staff choices during subsequent seasons and stuck with coaches whose units were performing miserably. Munchak demonstrated a propensity for crony-ism with his coaching hires and stuck with them WAY too long when it was obvious they weren't able to get the job done. And it was to the team and the fans detriment.

It was not all player personnel as Munchak defenders suggest. And even if it were, who is ultimately responsible for player performance?

During his tenure, we went 21-27, no playoffs and lost to two DIVISION winless teams late in the season when playoffs were still in reach. We were ONE of only two teams that lost to another DIVISION team that ultimately went 2-14. We were FREQUENTLY blown out and our home record was pathetic. Those are very strong indicators of poor preparation.

Like I said before, it is water under the bridge. But let's all be clear. Munchak was fired for a good reason. He was not a good head coach. No surprise really, he wasn't qualified to be a HC from the beginning. He hadn't even been a coordinator before the job was handed to him.

That is a reality check if we are being honest about Munchak as a head coach.

Well when this season is over and we are sitting 6-10 7-9 you wont be saying that. Unless Locker can stay healthy and play well, we're not going to be heading in the right direction. We need a franchise QB.

Every coach is going to be optimistic. So if he says 4 games, it really means 8 games or more. You have to have the right players for a certain system to work. You can't force players to run your system if they don't fit in that system.

I think that we will be bottom 10 in rushing. I don't think we will have a RB run for over a 1000 yards. I'm hoping Locker , Wright, and Hunter can make up for the lack of yards rushing.
