So I finally got to watch the game.

Offense? Impressive. Honestly freaking impressive. Greene doin his thing, mccluster is a nice weapon and hunter is balling out. Thompson seems to have figured out how to play TE as well. Then locker was killing it, whitehurst looked serviceable and mettenberger seems to really like to sling the rock. Sankey... Slow starter? Or needs to run against the 2's and 3's to look good? Still waiting for him to wow me.

I got comfortable with mett already. That's rare. I'm cringing every time he throws. I sometimes STILL do that with locker. Mett is holding it too long tho. We gotta implement some quick passes for him to keep him healthy.

Now the real battle moving forward will be who stays consistent. And healthy....

Defense... Well it seems where our offense has somehow clicked it on the All pro setting... Defense still playing on rookie. They look bad. Lost and just not quite getting the rush there yet. Still hoping it's just growing pains and not a foresight for the entire season.

    Mariani done made the team.

He's never going to wow. He never did at UW. He was really solid, always fell forward, did everything well, but never wowed. Pretty much why I wasn't too happy with the selection. No way was he the best RB in the draft.

I def agree with that. I'm just saying consistently impress me as a weapon. I fear he's going to be even more lack luster once the season begins. Most the time it doesn't take a rookie RB long to find some first team touches... So far he's a 2nd round afterthought.

I've seen one or two runs where I saw a good speed and fall forward. His hands are great no doubt but our run game is looking iffy

Sankey will be alright just needs to correct some things like getting up field after some cuts... but in do time he make his stamp on this offense.. plus with whiz mentoring him and croom I have faith...

I was upset we passed on Hyde. I think Sankey will be fine in this system. But Hyde is going to be the best back out of this draft.

    OSU!
