Yes but the first team defense sucked!

I don't know what people were expecting when they heard we were switching to a 3-4 hybrid. We have 4-3 guys playing in a 3-4. We have press corners playing zone. We don't have depth at LB. This is the result.

That's what the preseason is for-to learn the system. They will be ready. The coaches can't teach until they find out the level of the student. On the other hand, if the level is so low that they are unteachable, well then, we are in a world of hurt because a great O still can't overcome an useless D-and the other way around. just ask the Preds.

The all out blitz' plays were pissing me off. On one hand it's nice to see the defense go after the QB, but at the same time just reminded me of Jerry Gray's predictable blitzes.

Hope so. Didn't follow him once he was in. Will next game.

I wouldn't say overvalued in the least. So far he hasn't played like a rookie.

He can run with good vision and instincts.
    He can pass block.
He can catch passes out of the backfield.

He's the most versatile back we have.

This game was a mixed bag for sure. The Saint's first drive was just too painful to watch. It's true that we don't scheme for preseason games so the second preseason game is really the definition of our vanilla defense. The Saint's second drive was stopped and I was happy about that. The rest of the game was like a Clint Eastwood movie: The Good, The Bad, and A man has to know his limitations . . .

Maybe they're still figuring out personnel on defense. Especially up front.

The runs just haven't been coming though is all I'm saying. Greene has been more productive. Granted it's only preseason, just think there's an overreaction lol. And he whiffed pretty bad on a pass block last night but yes for the most part he does a good job on that area.

Yeah but he's also been running hard and making good reads/cuts. He looks decisive. Which is a nice change of pace from what we've been used to here the past few years.
