I wouldn't be worried about the defense. Hortons play calling is normally extreme and abstract, thus far he's been pretty blah. Doesn't want to use the good stuff in preseason.. that's my excuse, at least.
No excuse for the piss poor tackling though.

Zero excuses for the bad tackling. That's the only thing in concerned about so far in this preseason.

Next would be the DB's but I will hold off on them until week 1.

We do need to remember that Horton isn't showing us much right now. I'd expect there is little disguising, etc. so he can better evaluate his players in one-on-one matchups.

Having said that, the poor tackling isn't fixed by scheme. The first team D, especially the interior DL and MLB, don't seem to be getting enough pressure up the middle on their own and that's concerning. I see movement up the edges but the QB is stepping in to a clean pocket. Seeing WRs running behind the DBs is concerning but, again, some of that is due to little pressure from the DL.

    Anyone hear anything on Greene?

Great points. I agree with everything you said.

I think its gonna take a little longer for the Defense to develop. Both sides are in brand new systems but I think the transition is easier for the offense than the defense. Plus Whiz is an offensive minded coach.

Is it just me, or does anybody else think they should move Casey to NT?

He looked decent. Solid north/south runner. Still looks like he's going to be a very productive back.

Nah. From the looks of it, D. Jones will be starting there soon. He is going to be an impact player at NT.

Looked good from what I saw. I didn't see the whole game, but apparently he lost a fumble. Hopefully he doesn't have the itis (had two fumbles in practice the other day).

Just as it was stated, the defense got good pressure on the edges but kept getting pushed out of the play, leaving a clean pocket for the QB to have time to make good throws to open receivers. There just isn't much of an interior push and I am wondering if Sammie Hill was such a great pick up. They may need to move Casey back inside and try that.

Other than McCourty, who got toasted on that one play, our corners were boys among men out there, constantly abused by a guy that most likely won't make the Saint's 53 man roster. We need to take a long look at DB's that get cut in the next 2 weeks because I'm not sure that guy that will be next to McCourty come the season opener is here right now.

Safety play was good, except for that TD play were Wilson whiffed. I like Stafford and how he's been playing. That diving pass break up by Griffin was great, he's balling. I honestly didn't hear BP's name but like once last night.

The offence was great, they moved the chains with ease it seemed. Jake impressed me a lot last night, he looked like a confident pocket passer, and he was putting those balls in great places. He did have that one pass that was almost intercepted but they DO happen. Mett looked great to even though he holds on to the ball way longer than he needs to. He definitely is a lot like Rapersberger. Justin Hunter is well....our best WR. Did Nate even have a catch last night? Taylor Thompson is showing me something, he might be a decent TE after all lol. 1st team OL looked really good, and so did Greene. McCluster is awesome and I love his spirit and smile, he has lots of fun out there.
