The thread inspires us. I'll probably
Instagram a picture of it like a 15 year old girl or a black guy.

It might be the Jack talking but you are so much cooler outside of Taboo. Tell us what the Great Depression was like again Alex.

It really is deceptively simple but people just don't want to hear it. Unless you have a glandular problem it is math. First find out your BMR this link is a good start...
    http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

Once you know that follow the instruction to figure out how much extra you burn for exercise....personally I don't go the the "plugged in" formula on this or any other site since I use a HR monitor that gets pretty close to my actual caloric expenditures. (FYI, cycling burns between 600-1000 calories per hour depending on speed, climbing ect.) there are plenty of other sites that will list whatever exercise you like doing. Point is once you know the BMR and your caloric expenditures for a week it is a simple math problem. To lose weight eat less calories than you burn (BMR+exercise) and you will lose the pounds. Not saying it is easy....you have to find something that you will do for hours per week for it to work...a lot of people don't have the will power. I ride about 12-15 hours per week....somewhere around 275-350 miles...depending on the week. I eat whatever the **** I want. Whenever I want it.

Man I ran one of the most awesome speak easys ever. I had saved some money and had some gold coins so life was good then. You can really catch some bargains some when times are rough if you have saved up before hand. Life is all ebb and flow.

That's me too. But sometimes when I feel the beer is affecting my gut too much I'll take a self-imposed sabbatical. Of course I'm still drinking wine and liquor during that time so who knows how much good it actually does lol. I do tend to feel less bloated though.

I was told cycling isn't all that great for weight loss.

Caloric Deficit man. Counting calories can suck but there's no better way. Cardio too. P90x is good if you stick to the program. I consider myself pretty fit so hmu if you need any help.

You were told incorrectly. I have ridden for over 25 years but during the height of my ad career I had to stop just because of time. I went from 160 lbs. to about 210 lbs. in a period of 5 years. Pretty typical for a guy in the middle 30's. Started back when I was in my mid 40's and am now back down to my "racing" weight of 155 lbs. Wonder why you would think it is not....seems curious to me.
