I'm talking about making plays and throws. The rest will come. I'm impressed he is running the offense at an NFL pace. And I didn't watch anything other than that highlight montage. Do I believe that alone prognosticates future NFL success- of course not. But he was handling that offense with apparent great confidence, which is impressive to me since that was his first run at "live" NFL speed.

I was just about to post this. Every throw is one read then scramble. If that first guy isn't open he panics. Did dump it down to the wide open back a couple times, but never even looked at read # 2.

I'm not by any stretch a Manziel fan but he did look pretty good. No one is crowning the guy, just saying he looked good and might be a good player. I'm very interested in seeing whether he can unseat Hoyer before the season starts.

The guy was on pace and confident his first game. He wasn't lost or hesitant. I don't see how anybody can't admit that he simply looked more good than bad. It was a significant performance.

Uhhh... No, Manziel can NOT throw an accurate ball.

And it's easy to run around when the D isn't scheming.

He will be broken in half if he tries this backyard garbage in a real game.

Within three yards of the line of scrimmage. He averaged less than 6 yards per attempt against the Lions. That's...very low.

Well, to be fair, that is how he is going to do things.

If you are trying to get Manziel to sit in the pocket and run through his progressions, then you are just wasting what he is best at: Improvisation.

In high school there was this guy who was a freak athlete on a wrestling team in Memphis, and I would talk to him at tournaments. State champion. Had no clue how to wrestle. He was complete improv. I asked him jokingly one time if he thought that it would catch up to him.

He said something along the lines of "If someone figures out how to beat me, it will be impressive considering I don't even know what is going to happen. It's hard to predict someone when they don't even know what they are going to do."

That's Manziel. Unfortunately for him, the game always catches up to guys like that. And Manziel won't be any exception.

Locker has yet to get out of the 6s for a season since he's been a starter
