No one is. But there's nothing wrong in saying the D looked totally underwhelming when they looked totally underwhelming.

    No doubt.

I think in all honesty we're probably going to suffer through an adjustment period, at least in the beginning. But I think we actually do have some decent talent on defense so I think they'll put it together. LB is really starting to worry me though. McCarthy is done. Brown is dumb as a box of rocks. Ayers looked turrrble. Fokou is Fokou. Phillips is 33.

Finally watched the whole game, my small takeaways:

Thought Taylor Thompson and Damion Stafford were the most impressive backups on both sides of the ball.

Whitehurst looked good, as did Mettenberger. As I said before the draft, I like him. Give him time, and he'll throw darts -- velocity, placement, accurate etc. Problem is when he doesn't have time, or holds onto the ball too long (fumble). Kid can definitely be a good QB in 2-3 years.

Sankey is going to make a lot of nice plays in the passing game, both as a receiver and blocker. He has great hands. He clearly doesn't have breakaway speed, but he'll be solid running behind this great OL, and he's a smart runner. He'll go up the middle for a lot of 3-5 yard gains.

The tackling was really piss poor, expected in the first pre season game, one with those weather conditions. Backup DBs & LBs were pretty bad in coverage, chunks of yardage, wide open plays.

Akeem Ayers was quite poor. Morgan looked good at LB. I liked what I saw from Zach Brown when he was in, making sideline to sideline plays, slowing runners down at the LOS. Disappointed to hear he once again broke a team rule though.

Crutches McCarthy has played his last game as a Titan. He'll head to inj reserve or be cut. Not worth stashing him a roster spot and only having 52. Shame. Thought we had our MLB for 10 years when I first saw him.

Mariani had some disappointing drops but still think he makes team as #5 wideout. He's an excellent returner with good hands and instincts.

That actually is something I like about Mariani, he never muffs punts, knows when to FC or when the let the ball go.

I still think they need to bring in kickers for tryouts.

I was extremely disappointed that the weather was so crappy. We've waited forever for football and then we got last nights game. Ugh I guess there's always next week.

There's a lot of kickers all over the league. Every team is going to have one on their roster. We're not limited to Coons and Bonani if neither are panning out.

Some good kickers are going to be cut. Teams bring in guys with no shot of making actual team and they'll be available in 3 weeks. We better watch out for that like a hawk.

Regarding Zach Brown, I still have hope. He needs to "put it all together" so to speak, but he looked good yesterday, he made some plays.
