I'm not sure if this is already a thread somewhere, but I thought it would be interested to see why everyone became a Titans fan.

For me, it was because the way Eddie and Steve played the game. They were warriors and they got me hooked. What about you?

Yes this is already a thread, but what the hell.

I am a fan of the Titans because as a kid I always wished for a home team I felt was my own. Living in TN/MS as a kid the closet thing was the Falcons which I wasn't laying claim to, or the Steelers (yes I know Pittsburgh is nowhere near TN/MS but thats the team Id always find on TV).

So I went with the hot team at the time (Bronco's), but as soon as I caught word of the "Titans" coming around, I had to make that my team, and here we are 15 or 16 years later and Im still proud to say thats my team.

Those two made it incredibly easy to make the switch, they were modern day Titans in every sense of the word. Tough physical football players who fought for every inch, man do I miss those days.

Born and raised in Nashville. At the time we never had any professional sports team. The closest thing we had was probably Nashville Sounds or Nashville Kats (arena football team if anyone didn't know), but def. not the same. Knowing an NFL team was coming to my backyard, I became a fan and always supported them from day 1.

Grew up in Texas but most of my family lives in TN. I would visit there all the time & still do when I can.

I was an Oilers fans, despise the Cowboys. Oilers moved to my second home, so I was cool with it and stayed a fan.

Also, Steve McNair & Eddie being complete BAMF's was easy to root for.

Born and raised in Bay Area so naturally I am a 49'rs fan. But, when the Titans came to TN, switching to the "home team" was the only thing that felt right. Sooooo, even though we have not had such a good time as of late, I will always remain a Titans fan. That being said, when the 49'rs are playing anyone BUT the Titans........ you know. :)

It was something new. I was just coming of age where I started to understand the sport. Eddie. McNair. Not only did I fall in love with the Titans I fell in love with football. Never been the same since.

I'm from St. Louis, but live in Huntsville. I tried to be a Rams fan, but in 1998 I gave up on them. The Titans were the closest team to me and in 1999 I made the transition. My friends and I wanted to go see a game, and the only one that fit our schedule was Titans-Rams on Halloween. My friends said, "Who wants to see the Rams?" It was a great game that the Titans won by a field goal if I remember correctly. Of course those two teams met again in February. My family showered me with unwanted Rams gear after their win.

Steve and Eddie did make it fun to watch. We're headed in the right direction and we'll all be proud again soon.

Your story is what I think made the Titans so popular in the early 2000's, new fans looking for something new.

Jeff Fisher also had a sweet mullet.

    Gotta root for that.
