JC take off your rainbow colored glasses. Dungy never said that NO TEAM should draft Sam, only that he would not want to deal with the circus his signing will bring. A perfectly rational opinion. Geeze, what a drama queen you're being...:giggle:

he's just not a good enough player to put up with distractions that come with him. I don't have a problem with that stance

I'm in agreement. Is it very often a dlineman sticks, even as a rotation, that late in the draft?

And please don't argue numbers... as Titan fans, we know numbers don't tell the whole story - ie, Chris Johnson.

Thing is... if he weren't gay he was a sure-fire 1st rd pick.

And you guys can argue against that all you want.

12 former SEC DPOYs... all drafted first round. Many of them easy bust calls, even.

Anyone claiming Michael Sam being drafted in the 7th is due to skill is full of sh*t.

1 year wonder. Tweener. Terrible combine. Benefitted from another guy on the line that was better than him.

Did he slip because he came out? Yes. 1st round? Not even close.

But here's the thing. Teams put an athletes baggage and talent on the scales and if the baggage outweighs the talent, then you avoid that player.

It's always been that way. They did Tebow dirty because of that. But when that baggage is a player's sexuality... All the sudden it is unacceptable to recognize the intense baggage following him?

So we can understand a team avoiding a player for things from fighting dogs to loving Jesus... But not a guy with the status as the first publicly gay football player?

Baggage is baggage. Watching teams pass on him and saying "It's because he is gay", is an example of being perceptive... and then drawing absurd conclusions. Really, which is more likely: 31 teams unanimous in their homophobia passing on a player because he is gay... Or the explanation above.
