I agree he made a staying the course decision because it benefited his personal situation. I don't agree that we should've went all out to hire an assistant coach starting the search that late. It would put a new coaching staff way behind in evaluating the draft and free agent players available as well as roster talent.

Yeah people called it wrong from day one, and Munch went 9-7 and had a lot of people looking stupid after that first season. Then an abysmal follow up year where his QB was HURT; the same QB we are banking on to make a difference in Whis's first year. Last year was improved but didn't go our way.



None of that even matters. You guys are re-writing history just to piss and moan about Bud and the Titans. It's almost like some of you don't even like this franchise... can't help but notice it's a lot of people that just watch on TV or are quickly willing to bail on going to games if every season isn't playoff bound. Or even worse turn in their fan card if Munch was retained.

Bears missed the playoffs six of their last seven seasons. Know how to get rights to season tix for the Bears? Inherit them.

Packers missed playoffs from 83-92. If the Titans missed the playoffs that long I imagine most of you wouldn't continue to be Titans fans. I would.

 

Munch sucked. And was not qualified to be a NFL head coach as evidenced by his current status as a position coach.

End of story. Moving on.

 

I agree with everything except the final point.

The Titans did not just miss the POs they were not competitive in most of their losses and hell some of their wins. Last time the Jets came here both teams looked like the Keystone Kops

 

You're just sore because we were right that Munchak was a bad hire. And the difference between the Bears and Packers fan loyalty is a joke- they have multiple conference championships and Lombardi trophys. This franchise has been to the Super Bowl once. Fans will support the franchise as fervently as the Bears, Steelers, Pats, Packers, etc fans support those franchises when we win the big one like they have. Even Whis said something similar when he took over.

 

That really only happened with munch. Fisher might as well have been an outside hire. Just like jack pardee before him. And fisher did use guys from the inside buch only so much. And mostly in the dc position. Dinger was a complete outsider and so was norm chow. They also brought in a number of outsiders as position coaches over the years. And the main thing that got munch fired was his insistance on sticking with the good ole boys. I think it is unfair to label entiee organization based on how munch ran things.

 

That's reasonable. But anybody that suggests the munchak hire was conducted as an open hire has lost their mind.

How about the browns? Team moved and they still got a team back in large part due to loyal fan support. And they have been a much worse franchise than the titans.

And no, it's nothing about munch hire being bad or your complex to always be right. My annoyance is that you crybabies cant admit facts. You act as if bud fired fisher the day after the season ended and just handed it over to munch which is bs and false. You specifically whined and bitched about the ownership incompetence this offseason because we didn't have a coach hired. Fisher was fired 3 to 4 weeks AFTER whis was hired. But you all think we should've launched a massive coaching search til when, March? With the draft a month away and free agency starting immediately. Yeah that sounds real smart. Sorry that the reality just doesn't fit your ego of needing to hate on munch. How bout talk legitimate reasons instead of rewriting the actual history of the franchise

No **** I'm pretty tired of the cliff jumping emo **** that goes on whenever the team doesn't make a move someone likes. And it's okay to just ***** about it without taking it to "I'm not renewing my tix if this happens..." Or "I'm not watching if they do this or I'll support another team.."
