Meaning the time he put in to being an actual NFL QB. Conditioning, learning the play book, etc.

I do not think to this day VY realizes how much his last temper tantrum with fish changed his life, fishes, and the organization.

Vince Young thinks he has retired from the NFL, but mainly because the NFL thinks his time is up.​

Let's be honest here: this isn't really Young's decision. After the Browns released him earlier this month, it sounds to me like the former Titans quarterback has finally accepted his options have run dry.​

Young told KXAN in Austin over the weekend he considers himself retired from the NFL. He said he's looking into other options, which could include at an ambassador-type role at his alma mater, the University of Texas.​

"It's definitely official I think in my book," Young said of his "retirement." "Unless we get a great opportunity, something guaranteed… other than that I've started moving forward in some things. I love the NFL, will love the game always but I'm kind of moving forward and moving on right now."​

In reality, the NFL has given up on Young. After his playing days with the Titans ended in 2010, he played one season with the Eagles, as a backup.​
