Beginning of the end? Not even close. It's about time teams had to start paying franchise QBs an arm and a leg. Think the Broncos go to the Super Bowl without Manning? I don't. If you want to play with a superstar at the most important position, prepare to play with scrubs at all the other positions.

And no, I'm not bitter that we don't have that problem.

    Brady got 57, Peyton 58, Flacco 52, Rodgers 62.5...

It's the norm now for QB who are successful with their team.

Yup. Over paying good QBs is the trendy thing now.

Is it overpaying? Each of those players I listed have a Super Bowl ring.

Now he hasn't won a Super Bowl yet, but most of those QBs listed above haven't had the same success he had in his early career.

Wilson could get that money I'd say he's not overpaid because he's earned it, Kaep is a bit overpaid. If NFL teams don't want to pay for players' past performances (ohhh the pot is getting hot, might need some stirring) then they're going to have to pay more for unknown future performances.

As we all know baseball contracts are worth a LOT more not even a good comparison. 60m for a baseball player barely gets you a good player.

Seattle's FO are probably killing themselves right now over that contract, being that Wilson is next.

I like Colin and think he's a hell of a QB, but this is a lot for someone who has yet to justify that type of money. I know it was a risky move, but if you were going to throw all that money at him, they should've waited just a little bit longer.

Honestly, I don't think Colin will play lights out anymore, because of this huge contract.

    Oh well.

I backed the Flacco deal but I don't like this one at all. I know many think Flacco sucks but at least he's shown he can put the team on his back and will them to play off wins and a superbowl. All Kaep has shown is that so far he can't close the deal in the playoffs. Not like SF had much of a choice though.

It's better than the Flacco, Romo, and Cutler deal, but it's still bad.

And I say this as a fan of Kaep.

The sample size is too small to lock and load with that much money invested. I think he'll end up being worth it, but it's very risky right now.

QB deals are just getting ridiculous altogether.
