    Alex Smith did that in his first year, and you can argue that he could easily have done it twice again. It's a lot easier to play on a team that is stacked at every position like San Fran is.

    But that said, he has played pretty well. That's a lot of money to pay someone who hasn't even played two full seasons.

    I just don't think he's that good. He's benefitting from that awesome defense and great offensive line. If you put Locker in that same situation he does as well or better IMO. Can you imagine how Kaepernick would look having Munchak as his coach for 3 years?
