Yeah, I remember, and the only time we got front page news this past season was when Locker got hurt, and then when we ditched CJ's ass on the side of the road.

But they'll talk about cleveland, oakland, Jacksonville, the Jets.... I seriously think the only other franchise as ignored as us is Buffalo. And that's just shameful, we start doing good, and we hear about it a little bit, then things go bad, and it's par for the course. But the jags draft Blake Bortles and it's a frickin' super bowl season for them.

The Titans are like the kid looking for his dads approval, when he does something good, he asks his dad if he notices, then daddy NFL says "that's what you're supposed to do." Not "good job" or "I'm proud of you."

And that fookin' gif in your sig cracks me the hell up. LOL

I'm a little confused. How again is a 7-9 team from last year, playing most of the year with a backup QB and a coaching staff obviously less than ideal not at minimum as good now as they were last season?

As for he 3-4 transition keep in mind hat is only going o affect about 40% of the defensive plays. The team will be in nickel or dime the other 60%. Besides, Horton runs more of a hybrid than a traditional 2 gap anyway and we signed one ILB, drafted another, signed an OB (with 10 sacks) and already had Wimbley and Ayers, two guys that fit a 3-4. Ropati is actually more of a fit as a 5 tech than a 4-3 DE, we signed a DL guy who played at Pitt in a traditional 3-4 and drafted a 322 pound DL in the draft.

We did loose Verner but we have some decent talent o fill that void. I suppose we coud see a sinifican drop off ut Coty has looked like he might e another McCourty type player.

Offense is our HCs specialty. We have a solid OL (2 starters are not rookies anymore and Oher or Lewan have to be better than Stewart, also have a real OL coach now), drafted possibly the best RB in the draft (who has to be better than the guy we had carrying the ball when we went 7-9) and one of our best WRs is not a rookie anymore to go with a nice group of skill payers.

I'd expect 8-8 at minimum and really the only way I see the team tanking is if Locker plays horribly or gets hurt and they put Whitehurst in there. Mettenberger would be a better option but we shall see.

This is a good point. You can add to it as well. Like lack of a run game and poor pass protection on the right side. Then add in a tough schedule and a return game that cost at least one game.

Actually I think teams spend even less time in the base D. I think it may be as low as 30%. So you bring up a good point about the nickel and dime. However, those formations, especially the nickel will be different as well. The preferred nickel looks like it will be the 2-4-5 formation.

Verner is a tough loss but you cannot keep everyone. Besides, we look to be using a lot more man coverage which has not always been Vern's strong suit.

I do expect a lot more out of the OL. Also, those guys on the inside now have had a full year together.

I'm wondering if maybe we should move Levitre to RG, he's the better Guard between he and Chance.

    Who says they aren't?

All I was saying is last year's record was more of a reflection of inferior talent (including injured players) and/or lack of execution (which is a reflection of inferior talent) than the scheme or play-calling.

I think there are too many question marks right now to make any kind of prediction on the outcome of this season. As you mention, will Locker stay healthy and play at a consistently high level? Do the Titans have the right personnel to execute Horton's scheme? How will the rest of the AFC South shape up? What impact will Sankey have?

I really don't have a feel on what the 2014 record will be.

Stay somewhat healthy and get solid play from Locker and this could be a playoff team. But I totally understand why many of the talking heads would feel the Texans will be back, the Colts will continue to challenge and that it'll take some time for the Titans to adjust to the new schemes.

What about Levitre at center where he can better use his athleticism.
