2014 NFL Draft: Pick #11 - OT Taylor Lewan

All I am saying is, ROOS wasn't amazing and his time is coming to an end..The same people complaining about Oher being opposite of him, are now complaining about a guy like Lewan????!!! They are worlds apart...Oher will be good depth if someone goes down, and okay, they spent potentially 4 mill, but better than reaching....They guys they wanted were gone, this was one of the BPA...I honestly thought Atlanta would take him over Mathews. Mathews plays both sides and is polished, but he wasn't as aggressive as Lewan, and I think Lewan has the slight edge IMO.

 

I agree, but think about our line facing teams beefing up on D, with glass behind center????!!! How can you be MAD at that. Disliking it is one thing, but I would have been WAY more pissed had we taken a CB or a QB. This was not a reach and will be a fine pick. A top tier tackle that fell to #11. The only person I would have wanted in front of him was Donald......and we knew that wasn't happening.

 

Told you before...Now Locker has no excuses, and a QB will be drafted.....New coaches go for QB, protection, and then weapons...Watch that unfold, it shouldn't surprise anyone.

 

I don't want Carr, he is a scrub. I wouldn't mind taking Marquise Lee from USC or taking Jimmy Garoppolo.

 

You can plan for the future by drafting a QB. Locker is going to be gone most likely next season. At the very worst Manziel would have made the Titans interesting. This is going to a very boring season.

 

I totally disagree with the notion that this pick signals that the front office is in anyway giving up on the notion of being competitive in 2014. A few players have at least insinuated that a culture of malaise had infected the locker room during the Munchak era. Perhaps a nasty, talented tackle is exactly what the team needs. Roos seems a fairly nice guy, and perhaps too comfortable with his established rep as a franchise tackle. This lights a fire under his ass and sends a signal of change to the entire roster.

And guys, Locker was actually playing pretty well last year... there is a chance that he can still be a decent QB. Right? I understand the impatience and frustration with Jake's health, totally, but isn't he as likely to work out as many of these flawed QB prospects that you would have the Titans draft... it's not like the team passed on Andrew Luck to take an OT.

Anyways, hope the pick turns out. I like the attitude he brings to the line. Hope he doesn't rape any cheerleaders.

 

I like the pick. Provided he stays out of trouble that is. No way Roos could handle Clowney. No way. Roos gets way too much credit given the way he's played the last 2 seasons. This guy will be an instant upgrade. The guy handled Clowney better than anyone who faced him one on one in college. I can see why the Titans did what they did in round 1. Now, we need a RB, QB, and Corner.

 

Finally some people that aren't negative as all hell and see the logic behind this pick....This guy plays with an F ing attitude...I like it. Beat people up in the trenches and set ourselves up for this year an on. Now the key is the rest of this draft, this thing isn't over guys, and with all of our needs, it isn't going to happen overnight. Lets keep this thing in perspective.

 

No one on here wanted a LT? I didn't know all on here were experts in knowing the hows, whys, and wherefores of of putting together the best team on the field. Here we have gone from lauding the great choice of the Whiz to castigating him and everyone else involved in the pick. I guess the honeymoon is indeed over.

 

Manziel isn't changing this team if he was taken this year..He is raw, and if Oher and Roos are on the line vs Clowney/Watt and others, his A$$ is getting sacked constantly. Stop thinking of the flash man, and think football. Remember our negativity talk! lol
