Tackles arent good players? Nobody ever thinks about "what did the tackle do for us? " The attention is only there when they screw the pooch. Good lineman make the star players you are looking for. They make the "good" players.

Haha espn just had us down for the steal of the draft!!

I am on the band wagon - Lewan looks like a legit steal

Highly unimpressed having watched it live at stupid o'clock in the morning and some twelve hours later I still don't feel that enamoured. Having never considered Lewan as an option perhaps I am just misinformed as to what he can offer us.

The only crumb of comfort is IMO , this is a year where Locker will stand or fall ; end of. If Locker goes down then the patsy with the clipboard will know how to run the offensive book at least.

I am still of the opinion that Webster will hold out until next year for QB when there is a decent crop. By that time Warmack has two seasons under his belt and Lewan will have had a year in rotation with Oher and Roos. Being brutally honest , Roos last year was once again , IMO , starting to show signs of deteriorating though not to the extent of Stewart.

We will I am sure take an RB today and I am hoping for Hill. After that maybe we will load up for Horton.

If we did botch the trades that were rumoured either up or down then thats on the war room and someone has to carry the can for a lack of coherent policy sitting should the "A" train come off the rails like when Barr went to Detroit. Had we not seen the slightly pissed looking war room after the pick went in then the conjecture about how we ****** up again in the draft would maybe be whispers and not the dawn chorus.

Personally again , I think Whiz has a three year programme in place in which the first is Locker year , the second is draft the Franchise QB year and the third is going for the money. If having a year under Lewans belt assists in protecting the new body we will pick next year then I am all for it rather than an aging Roos.

Would I have looked elsewhere for value on the board at 11 last night , certainly. Am I suicidal that we took Lewan if my thoughts are right about the timeframe that Whiz and Webster are working in ... I guess not.

I just think with a top 15 pick, they should be finding someone who makes plays.
I don't think a tackle is a player that will really get us over the hump, or any team. It takes a cohesive unit, more than any unit on the field.

If they traded down into later in the round, I would be ok with an OL pick.

It's really nice to have a supreme tackle unit, but is rather then take a shot to have someone who will make an obvious difference out there. Someone who makes me want to go pay to watch games. They still lack any player like that.

Warmack's ineptness really helped sour me even further on the idea.

The first four pages of this thread are comedy gold.

It's kind of an annual tradition I guess... but still funny.

Buncha vagine up in here. ;)

Hope y'all drank a lot of water last night to rehydrate and are feeling better this morning.

I wonder how many buckets of tears will be shed when RW picks Nix over some scrub QB.

Still subpar. Just like we have been for the best part of 10 years. And they were 2nd and 4th round picks.

Draft day is the only day I can be excited for titans football, because they usually poop the bed in the season. They even took the draft day fun away the past 2 years now with these OL picks.

Even with these WRs, Qbs, DEs, whatnot. There is the hope that they may possibly the next "big one" who takes you all the way, becomes the best at their position. Having the possibility of having the best LT in football, doesn't make me want to cheer. If our center and guard positions are horrible (as is possible) then it negates any goodness that this guy gets. Especially sitting on the bench this year.

Just wished they would have traded down.

Or prevent the high pick playing DE/OLB for the team the Titans are facing to make a play. That's what this pick hopefully does.

Well, we didn't have the dumbest pick on the board. At least we didn't take J. James. That guy was a third round talent, and then shot up the board out of nowhere. Widely considered the 2nd best lineman in an extremely overrated group. IMO, he was the best we had, but he wasn't a first round talent.

Between saying "Nah" to QBs, and drafting BPA at a position that isn't an immediate need, I feel like we are in a tanking mentality for next year.

Disappointing. But better than taking Manziel and having a lot of fun losing for the next five years.

Looking at the tape he's easily a top 10 player but I don't know that we needed him.
